Thank you for being real about your base weight. So many games are played with “consumables”, and a lot of bits and bobs often get added to ditty bags and attached to packs that are conveniently forgotten when people are bragging about their low base weights.

Such a great gear video. Thank you. I love the super organized and clear beginning with the images of everything, followed by the reviews, explanations. Really so well done.

Came here from The Trek. So glad your still vlogging and hiking. This is the best gear pack, very tight. Sad about #15 but my take is that when you are as talented, balanced, attractive, stylish, and captivating as you are - some people cant handle it and must try to bring you down. So sad but you are ao above all that shit. After watching all your vids from the trek i was astounded at how impressive you are. At first i found myself being judgemental but only because you are so past anything i could ever be. But thats just my weakness. You deserve the best kudos. Like a gold medal or oscar or a black pearl. You rock. Please keep vlogging and consider the trek again, for your fans.

Thanks for all the great videos, I was glad to hear I am not the only one that takes a trekking pole to bed...lol. I know you have hiked with Evan a lot......and i wanted to get a normal persons opinion...lol.....how does he deal with being so exposed in that tarp to creeping, slithering, and animal things.....I want to try tarp camping but does he have problems doing that......I wanted an unbiased opinion....lol......thanks for everything you are tuff as nails out there.....😬

Loved your minimalist pack. Unfortunately I’ve still to do anything solo just scared. I’m a total beginner & pack my fears. Just incase things. Plus, I love gadgets, all these little things I could loose & never miss. Shakedown will have fun w/ me but I am trying to change. My pack is an old Kelty that weighs 6 pounds but is comfy & figured use what I have & progress. If I were as serious as I’d like to be I’d loose 80 pounds. Maybe after enough short practice trails. Fat old lady that loves the outdoors just loves you! Living vicariously through you. If you’d consider taking a beginners group I’d sign up! Heck, I’d id even let you do my hair.

... Good video ,, Nice gear list .... Yes, even through summer , Colo. can have rain ,, hail ,,or snow daily ... and drop temps rapidly ,, so some kind of gloves and hat or at least a buff neck gator rolled as a beanie is a good carry ... at altitude , temps at night can get quite cold ..

I liked the beginning gear graphics. The alcohol wipes can be used as firestarters but they only burn for a short time. I prefer a tealight candle because it is multi function and it burns long enough to dry tinder over it. That little flash light is nice. Consider having it on a necklace. On a cold night, your towel can be an extra layer over your core. Wash the pad with bleach and it will be fine. Look at the River Country Poncho for $10. It is big enough to use as a tarp too. I use cheap knit gloves with disposable vinyl gloves over them for cheap warm water proof gloves. A mummy bag will keep you warmer. Finish your firewood pile soon. A good gear video. Good Luck, Rick

Thank you. Very helpful. I think you were in the AT video hiking with Gary(could be wrong). It was a full video of that person’s AT hike. I watched it around March from a 2018 video. The climax was you got married at Katahdin. Bravo to you and Luke. Be well. Wishing you peace, good health and good fortune ahead. Happy Trails!

My first hike we had these steel external framed packs and we hiked 13 miles in to South Lake in the Adirondacks my pack was 72 lbs the hip belt was a belt no padding atall. Had scars from that for a long time. Im surprised i went back every year for about 10 in a row.

Always love your gear videos. The stacking of gear at the beginning of the video was awesome☺️. I’m still using my LL Bean mummy bag (circa 1976) as a blanket. I have two person sleeping bag(disc) for me because it’s roomy 🎉. Looking forward to seeing your next adventure. Love you Liz!!❤️❤️❤️

hi Liz! How did the Mid 1 perform regarding condensation? By any chance, would you have filmed your morning routine for condensation management? Thanks in advance.

Looks like your best opportunity at lightening your load a little would be to get a sleeping bag that is a little lighter than the one you have. Of course the lightest bags cost the most as I’m sure you’re aware. The one Patagonia midlayer, as you noted, was extra weight so not taking it next time sends you toward a 14lb base weight. Since you have recognized the virtues of a poncho over a rain jacket, (me too), consider replacing the rain jacket with a wind jacket. Wind jackets generally weigh about 3-5ozs; rain jackets somewhat more. Without too many modifications you are quickly approaching a 13lb base weight. Considering the conditions you were planning for, that is very respectable especially with the extra weight for filming. You’re doing great I think. Really enjoyed your format for this vlog and your trip across the CT. Take care.

Hi liz, I am still following you through all of your adventures. The year that you did the AT, I was in the market for a sleeping bag and got that LLBean one after I heard your approval of it. I have not used mine as much as you have, but I have found that bag is very warm and I have loved it. And i think i got it on sale so it was relatively affordable. If anything happens to this one, I will have to look at Western Mountaineering for a comparable bag I think. Expensive but super quality old fashioned enclosed bags.

That’s what I always say- “Quick and Comprehensive.” 😊 One of the best Gear videos I have ever seen. Love this style. Luke is blessed to have discovered you. Happy Trails (maybe the NPT) it’s a quick and comprehensive hike at 138 miles and close to home. Quick, what are you waiting for. Lol Best time of year to hike it. Any questions, feel free to holler.

Personally I would loose half of that hair . Probably several pounds and easier to wash. I liked long hair when young now I like the convenience of short hair. To each their own but I would at least consider it. Hopefully not a touchy subject. Anyway thumbs 👍 I love Colorado like most people I would guess. Have fun on your next hike.
