After over 1,200 kilometres of testing, shooting, and filming for various assignments, I’ve collected the comments, observations and complaints I think potential 2023 Genesis GV60 buyers will find the most useful in making an informed purchase decision. If you're gearing up to pull the trigger on one of these, then this story is just for you.
My tester is the 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance, featuring all-wheel drive (AWD), a 77.4-kWh battery pack, and 483 horsepower backed by up to 516 lb-ft of torque. Range on a full charge is about 380 kilometres at room temperature, so make that about 350 during my chilly mid-fall test drive with the heat blasting in northern Ontario. My top-line tester came in at $79,000 with little less than everything the Genesis brand knows about tech, design, and style.
Let's dig into what I figure are the best parts of its driving experience, and a few areas where some shoppers may be disappointed.

Rivals offer more range. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto don't work wirelessly. Hyundai and Kia models offer similar performance for less money. Styling awful. Terrible handling dynamics. Flat floor nice. 👎🏿

I would disagree with almost everything you just said. The range from my performance is sitting at 440km at 90 charges. I found it handles better than a model Y, and the styling is very subjective - clearly, I liked it, as I bought one. The performance is simply amazing, and the thrill when using the boost button never wears off. The camera side mirrors (I'm not in the US) are really good. They stop glare, don't fog up or get wet, work better at night than regular mirrors, and can display warnings on them. One of the biggest selling points is the smoothness of the ride - it is awesome. The car runs on on Macpherson struts, and can dynamically change the ride depending on road conditions. The interior is definitely luxurious and is far better than the Hyundai/Kia equivalents. I had an option of any one of the 3, and the GV60 was clearly the better car. The only negative I would agree with is the apple Carplay and Andriod auto needs to be wired in - this is annoying. The onboard GPS system is extremely good, so in reality, there is no need to use apple Carplay or Andriod auto. But I still agree, it should be a wireless system.

@@theolympus1851 Excellent choice with Honda, but totally inaccurate statement of course.

@@xiaowei1 Totally incorrect and it’s insanely overpriced and a colossal waste of money. It’s virtually worthless in a few years.

@@billyrock8305 Well, I have been driving it for a full year now, and it has been amazing. The car is a thrill to drive, it has a luxurious interior, looks great, and even has a massage seat. I'd pay more for a comparable Lexus, and it would be nowhere near as quick or fun to drive. I also like how compact it is for parking. Unless they are a limited edition, every car goes down in value, but I do know the price for a new one has just gone up in Australia so there's that... At the end of the day, I love the stylization of the care, and if you don't, you are welcome to your opinion, but I'd be more than happy to get another one.
