One thing I noticed about the new Honda is how light it feels. This bike is very easy to maneuver on and just feels super light on the track.

The Hondas are great race bikes if you have the budget for them,I’ve raced many years and have always heard the Hondas take a good amount of money to make them really fast high reving bikes but you can get the same performance but for half out of a Yamaha or ktm hence why you see the most of them on starting lines
@yukonjon5964 Жыл бұрын
good point outdoors, but just look at the 250 class in AMA supercross this past two years since the updated CRF250R came out, and see the numbers on the line... here is what you see. all the factory teams and brands... and then a whole row of Honda's. seriously. for the 22 guys making a 250 main, nearly half the bikes were Honda's. there are a few reasons why the bike was not big in the local arena, and also why it was the choice of so many SX privateers after it came out. starting with SX, the bike is just built for it.. stiff chassis, light weight, lots of low end torque, and slimmer than everything but the Kawi. the stock bike's fork is not good, but SX fork mods fix all that. thus there was virtually no downside to the bike in SX. just look at what AJ Catanzaro was able to do with a stock motor in the 2022 and 2023 series. as for why not use it in MX, or at he local level?... Honda has not made a great name for itself the past 10 years, so many have just written them off. mainly from the top-end power only motors they made for years. too hard to ride. thus everyone has gotten set in their ways and settled into the brand they work best with. local dealers also play a big roll in this, with some Honda dealers being into everything but moto. as for the bike, you have to spend some money on it to get it working better, so guys just buy another brand that's closer to spec. but the good news is that the engine is no longer the problem. its really not that bad fixing what's left that's wrong... change the engine mount brackets to make the new chassis feel right again, have the forks revalved and sprung, and go with a half degree steeper rake angle using an aftermarket triple clamp. you will have a bike that is better than the Yamaha, plus lighter and slimmer. it's really a bulletproof win to own a Honda and way cheaper than a KTM. but keep in mind the 2024 YZ250F is all new, so we cant be as sure now. also note that most shootouts test stock bikes. it's just not fair in the case of the Honda because it goes from glitchy to nearly perfect. this is the way to go for engine mounts... fcpracing.com/product/honda-crf250r-2022-2024/

I’m getting back into the game after 10 years off. Im trying to decide if I should go 250 or 450. I was a 250 B rider. But my biggest concern now is my weight. I’m in the gym 7 days a week and I weigh around 215. So idk if I would be happy with the 250. Any help?

I took a 20 year break from riding (250 2 strokes) and just bought an RMZ-250 and I'm right at 200 pounds. I'll be honest, this bike screams with me on it, it has plenty of torque and wont get away from me as easily as a 450.

If you are capable of taking the 450 to it’s potential but honestly I’d go 250f. You will be surprised how good you can throw it around and get your technique back on track from the break. You would most likely beating your lap time with a 250 over a 450. Too much ego with people saying go the 450. People who use them PROPERLY are either pros or lazy riders thinking they ripping it hard lol

the same model comes in the X version (CRF250RX), which is a little better set up for trails. both super bikes but still more for MX. if you not on a racing level speed wise, than a truly MX based model may not be as fun for you as something made for trails only.
