Riding my new 2023 Husqvarna TX300 Heritage Edition....it's 1983 all over again! So far I've ridden woods, old school GP, Vet moto, and today a little bit of everything...the TX300 is versatile!
The subtle changes to the Husky plastic (smaller radiator shrouds, narrower front fender, and thinner seat) all combine to give the TX300 a smaller and more compact feel up front compared to the KTM 300XC. The TX300 air intake is on the left side cover so it has a little less intake noise and is more protected from the elements compared to the under the seat intake on the KTM 300XC. The 2023 Husky Heritage Edition models styling and colors are simple yet stand out get lots of thumbs up from other riders at the track.
More detailed thoughts on the engine and chassis....
The all new 300 TBI 2-stroke engine with electronic power valve and throttle body fuel injections sets the bar for big power and strong linear partial throttle response. With a white map (smoother power) and green map (quicker RPM build and more power up top) it is easy to change the character of the engine with the push of a button. This engine is fast and fun to ride with almost no vibration. It runs clean with Motorex 2-stroke oil mixed at 60:1 and premium pump gas.
The chassis is a great combination of cornering and stability at speed with excellent ergos and the usual strong Brembo brakes. The stock AER forks work well especially after about 4~5 hours and if you take the time to dial in fork pressure and clicker settings for different conditions and rider weights. For off road riding I prefer the Comfort settings (and perhaps a click or two softer) in the forks and shock. The stock rear shock takes about 4~6 hours to break in and works well. I run clickers in the 18~20 range with HSC about 2.5 out. The stock 4.2 spring is a little soft for my 6'2" 190lb body and I have a 4.5 spring to install but the bike has been works so well I have little motivation to change it.

Classic unpredictable two stroke wheelies, you gotta love 'em. These TBI don't seem to bogg down at all

Can’t wait until you get your hands on a 2024 KTM/ Husky with standard spring forks on it. They are already here in AZ.

Yes looking forward to riding a 2024 KTM/Husky XC/TX with spring forks. I just picked up a set of 2023 WP Pro Component Cone Valve "spring" forks for my 2023 TX300 today....hope to ride it tomorrow or Monday so look for a video review soon👍

Are you running a fan on that tight technical stuff I hear stator need rewound. Do you think it's necessary? I am riding same stuff as you.
@mxengineer1
@mxengineer1 2 ай бұрын
I don't need a fan for my riding as I don't do extreme stuff - for my riding overheating is not an issue. Even my KTM 300 Erzbergs rarely turned the fan on. If you find your 300 TBI getting warm and burping coolant on your rides would be good idea to add a fan. I did not re-wind the stator on my bike (no fan and when I need a light I put on a MTB light on the handlebar.

Crazy that they don’t put a O or X ring chain on the husky

I am pretty sure it was all supply chain (a little pun there!) issue. Assembled a 2024 Husky FX350 at my buddy's shop today and it came with Brembo brakes and DID o-ring chain....and spring forks!

@@UnicornMoto Yes they did! I sat on some at the local KTM/Husky dealer and the new spring forks feel similar to the XPLOR spring forks - just a little stiffer setting. Have not ridden a 24 KTM/Husky with these new WP spring forks yet but have plenty of time on 23 and previous models with WP6500 spring kits and WP Cone Valve spring forks. Have some WP CV forks on my TX300 now... kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWmXiKl_qr9ph7c

Did you get rid of the 23 300XC for this?

No - still have the '23 300XC. The $1750 rebate made this Heritage Edition too good of a deal to pass up!

Yes same chassis and engine tuning as the 300SX version but as you noted 18" rear wheel along with a 6-speed transmission, kick stand, larger fuel tank that holds the fuel low on the chassis, and a softer setting along with a softer rear shock spring (4.2N/mm vs the 4.5N/mm on the 300SX).

Wonder if the Husky rad shroud plastic would fit the KTM xc?
@mxengineer1
@mxengineer1 Жыл бұрын
I've not even tried though I doubt is as the way the seats connect to the subframe is a little different and the Husky fuel tank shape is a little different.
