Ive done 680 miles on my drive home from picking my 2023 Elantra N DCT up in SC. I drove on average between 70 and 80 MPH, thru heavy rain, strong headwind, and some hilly terrain, and i averaged a calculated 30.4 MPG, including a few moments of wide open throttle in N mode. On the contrary, driving in the city im getting below the advertised 20 MPG, but thats a less controlled environement so its whatever. At least this car takes 87 octane and not premium only

My Hyundai Elantra Limited 2017 gets 21 MPG on average, only was for me to get 30MPG is to put it on cruise and drive for 2 hours minimum on the parkway When I use sports mode it drops even lower to around 14-16 MPG I love my car but I hate that this happens and idk why

WRX has an always-on AWD system. The MPG is worse than the Elantra N, Golf GTI, Golf R, Civic Type R, GR Corolla, etc

@@Courtesyflush52 Check his MPG tests, the WRX doesn't have worse MPG than the Golf R or Corolla GR 🙂 Elantra N with the manual gearbox is not very efficient too.

Thanks for your video. There was a time when a manual transmission gave you better mpg's but this is no longer the case.

I think it depends on how you drive it and the car. If you drive in a high gear you can usually beat it. In my GTI ive usually avg 34 to 36 combined just for daily driving. Its rated for 34 hwy. I drove from ohio to florida and back and it was just 36 goin arounf 80 .

Can someone explain why car makers don't put larger tanks in cars that get worse fuel economy then thier non sporty variant? 🤔

Cost- cuz they may need to adjust the car’s chassis?

Probably due to weight and overall car dynamics

I've gotten as high as 38 MPG, but my average is usually 25 MPG. Mind you my car is tuned, but the stock fuel efficiency was only marginally worse.

It's freaking crazy that Hyundai make Elantra face left already when this is not even a one year old design. Now people will just wait for the N facelift. Really stupid move from Hyundai.

It's been 3 years already for the base Elantra. Its just a mid-cycle refresh.

Every two or three years on average...Any competitive auto maker will revise a current platform with the exception of it's Work/Fleet vehicles. It's nothing new and it keeps things interesting. Just think of the savings on these unwanted 2022 models 😃
