They're not "dry clutch packs", it literally uses dry clutches, identical to whats in a manual transmission. The large electric motor is sandwiched between the engine and transmission. It is bolted to the transmission, but they are separate units. I've owned and worked on a few of these now. Kia/Hyundai has also had "iVT" transmissions out for a while that you didn't mention 😜
