it might not have much affect from DCT but more of gear ratio due to 8 speed automatic compared to 7 speed automatic and also how 8 speed is programmed (probably for more fuel economy) which puts higher gears much quicker leading to slow acceleration

The American model will not have BSM, Park Assist, Rear Heated Seats, Rear Charging Port and will have standard 8” Infotainment Screen and 7” Digital Gague Cluster based on the parts Kia ordered. Other than that, it will consist of same features

This is a much better version of Seltos than we get in the US. Unfortunately, her ein the US market, Kia phoned in the order for the '23 and kept it the same as the outgoing '22. I was hoping the '23 would be the same as you're driving, the Korean version looks great, and has a fantastic interior with great tech. To bad the US version isn't near as good as this.

Welcome back! I currently have a 2021 Kia celtos SX 1.6 L Turbo and the only complaints I have about it is the small gas tank you spend a lot of time going to the gas pump when your own trips traveling long distances and also the DCT is very jerky at times but I still love my 21 model

Yes, DCT can be jerky. But with new 8 speed automatic it feels much smoother!

Great job on this Charlie. I think the Sorento is easily the best in its class. Some nice updates here that will help it keep it's place at the top of the class. Only area for improvement is the lack of wireless Carplay/Android Auto on the top spec/largest displays. Not a big deal to me personally, but have seen other reviewers bring it up with all Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products

From the side profile, even with the 18in wheels, the wheels look so small for the wheel well and the body overall. Kinda gives it Ford ecosport status :( But man, if all those options make it to the US version, this will be a hot subcompact suv!!

Yeap. That's why i think personally the 8spd ivt is an upgrade from 7spd dct. This is more of a daily driver great for urban area so it doesn't need dct.

DCT is jerky and hesitant at low speeds. But the advantage is performance and efficiency. At >40kmh Kia’s 7speed dct is very smooth in my experience.

Great review! The interior is awesome!. I had Kia Sportage 2010. Back then, it was 6 cylinders with 2.7 L engine, the same engine in my father’s Santa-fe. I have to confess, I was 18 and used to push the gas to the end (180km/h in highways) and enjoyed it. Something I would not do any more, especially now that I’m 32. I had just 2 issue with the car, I didn’t like the firm ride and steering wheel,both were too firm for my taste. I think Hyundai is better for me, since it is smoother in total. by the way, I have a question for you guys, how reliable is new Hyundai Elantra? I like the tech and design a lot. But worry about reliability and in particular, interior rattling. My 2010 experience with Hyundai Santa-fe was, after a couple years, the interior starts rattling. I never owned an other Hyundai cars Since 2012 and I don’t know how they are now. I would be happy to know your thoughts about their new vehicles. Thanks in advance!

Indomobil should update Seltos here in Indonesia to the newer version like this. It looks great without the stupid chrome accent in front and rear of the car. The transmission change to more traditional torque converter seems more suitable for Jakarta traffic. You know DCT feel jerky on stop and go condition. One question. With the new engine and incredible horsepower what is the minimal requirement of the gasoline octane? Octane 92 is already pricey here.
