@@edwardruiz8965 You will outgrow the 16S/V10F if you're going to use it for transport as opposed to fun. The 18XL is a great commuter wheel but it's speed is capped at 30mph which will feel like an insane speed on a unicycle for the first couple of years riding. If your commute involves roads faster than this then I'd stick with the bike. How far will you be commuting? are you aiming for long trips at weekends? Are the roads relatively smooth where you live? Will you have to lift it up stairs? What size are you? Is your work the sort of place that won't mind a motorised unicycle being wheeled across the carpets?

@@mikebikekite1 Thanks for you're considerate and in-depth response. What you said that really stood out to me was if it's for transport or for fun. I live in the U.S, where EUC is still relatively new (I think?) and I've only ever seen two in 2023. I don't see myself maxing out the range on the King Song 18XL. BUT, I do see myself capping out the range on the V10F. I personally think the V10F is more waterproof, but that's not my concern since I live in the desert. I'm more concerned about over-heating on 115 degree Fahrenheit. The roads are smooth, and I wouldn't be commuting with actual traffic with this thing that's doing to much for the speed it can go... lol I really want the V12 HS or HT, but like so many others I'm still concerned with its reliability. I think I'm gonna save up for the 18XL, and then maybe the Sherman Max after some time. Thanks again for the response and giving me you're thoughts!

I have spoken nicely with mine, and so far, she has treated me well.👍😂. But I still have the V8…. And I love it❤.. I use it lots for running errands, putting the garbage out ( a 2 km ride for me!) Dog walking and city riding…in a small city though! It’s always In the car..just in case. I’m really glad I learned on a light weight, there’s a certain lightness of touch to a light wheel, that’s completely missing with a 30kg++ wheel. I’ll always want to have a light weight wheel around….Those who started on a V12 or S22 or T4, don’t know what they’re missing.

16s was my first wheel! It’s great and I think I recommend it buuuut if you’re considering it STRONGLY consider the 18XL instead! It’s basically its slightly bigger brother. It rides almost identically. 16s max speed is like 21mph which when you haven’t learned to ride sounds fast enough. But once you learn you realize that while 18mph or so is a decent cruise speed, there’s some situations where you wished you could go a little beyond 21mph like even just 23 or 25. With the 18XL’s 31mph top speed you can do that! AND you get more headroom! AND it can go further! AND it has a larger weight capacity. AND while its larger and heavier it’s still a lot smaller than today’s giant wheels

@@edwardruiz8965 based on what you said I’d say consider the 18XL as a minimum and scratch out the 16s. For V12 vs 18XL … V12 is several years newer tech and has a significantly wider tire than the 18XL which would help when off road. Neither of them have suspension though, which would be a really nice luxury when riding off curbs or going off road. If 99% of your time will be spent on pavement though then maybe even the bigger tire isn’t worth considering as a need. Personally I had an awful experience with the V12 as a second batch owner. Its left a sour taste in my mouth so it’s hard for me to recommend it with a straight face. In theory it’s a good wheel and it’s been in production now for a while … but I’ve seen reports even in the last month of owners having reliability/safety issues with the wheel. I sent mine back shortly after buying it due to fear of safety and that’s when I exchanged it for an 18XL which I trust completely. If you can stretch and buy an 18XL I’d consider that as a first wheel. See if you can find a used one for cheaper. It’s not too heavy and will be easy to learn with and for some people it won’t be one you’ll outgrow - but others will outgrow it depending on if they want to go super fast or do a lot off off roading etc. You might not really know what your 99% use cases are until you get your first wheel

@@seattleraf Thanks for your considerate and in-depth response! Also really appreciate the added input on your personal experience regarding the V12! It's quite unfortunate though, when I seen the V12 in action I immediately thought... yep. that's the one! Then, I did my research and the inconsistency of that wheel is just WHOA. Especially for the price point, so yeah I'm checking that off my list of favorites for now. As for I don't know what ideal EUC is till I get one... I am leaning towards the 18XL, but the V10F is a bit more budget friendly. My ideal EUC would be the Sherman Max to be honest, but I wanna work on that and for now get a budget friendly and reliable wheel. What do you think of the V10F? I'm guessing the 18XL is just more bang for your buck so it's like why not huh?

Aside the size, it’s pretty much like a KS-14S. Still seems to be an « ankle » wheel. This is perfect for errands, short commuting (10-20km) but so-so for long distance (25-40km). The app works well and DarknessBot offers some additional options (alarm levels and speed, LED colors management). Is it possible to monitor the wheel while charging (not possible on the 14D) ? As I have an A2 now, I can confirm that the 14D (and probably 16S as well) is fragile over bumps and road cracks, especially over 20 km/h. It's an okay learning wheel. The biggest problems are the price. For over a thousand bucks, do you really want to buy something that you will outgrow in a month or two? I'd get something that would let you travel 30-35mph (48-56kph). The V11Y is probably a good alternative, but be aware that InMotion doesn't have the best reliability track record with their V11, so I'd wait to see what others think before making the big purchase. Some batches of V11's have been great, but others have been problematic.

I rode 16s, not recommend it for adults. Reliable euc, but old, not comfortable design. Low and short pedals (dangerous), small case, very narrow tire (very high pressure needed, low comfort, easy to damage rim). Slow charging + small battery. Its quite expensive compared to poor specification. 16s feels during riding like wheel for children not for adults. It may be dangerous - it's easy to get caught on something and fall. Much better to buy something bigger, with normal size tire and pedals - 16x/Nikola/v10f/Msx/18xl.

Mr Wrong Way, I have to correct you on your comment about less volts means less speed. Its mostly true, but you can change the copper windings in the motor to change speed too. Technically, i could make a 12v wheel go over 50mph. Watts is a better word to describe the capability of a wheel. Volts has become a buzzword. Perhaps not the right direction to go. I had a park ranger tell me my wheel wasnt allowed because it was over 17 volts. It made me cringe so hard. Was thinking okay, so then rewire my wheel for 12v and upconvert back to 126v and i would be fine. 😂
