Great detail in your discussion, i put the FuelX Lite into my Svartpilen 401 when I upgraded the air with K&N +Cover filter,resonator bypass mid pipe and Werkes exhaust straight after the first service and unlock of the system, it’s essential for any individual changes to exhaust or air intake system, best investment ever. I mix up my elevation regularly (5-4000’) and to allow the Lite version to recalibrate I simply allow about 5 mins of switched on ready to ride for the Lite to alter its settings and off I go, continual throttle response in all places🙌🏾

The way you described the original running at idle and cruise is identical to the latest Triumph 400s by the same manufacturer. Too lean I think. Couple more days till the FuelX arrives.

The world market makes it very difficult for engine manufactures to meet all the emission requirements so they adopt the most strict and let the end user and aftermarket sort it out, really is quite silly but at least we have a work around. Your bike will run well with a good re map.👍

@@thebelligerentmechanic8916 Weird it needs an external box. Why can't the manufacturers make the ECU map on bikes accessible to after-market editing?

Great review for me as I'm thinking about getting the Fuel X, thank you! Why did you choose the Pro vs Lite version, and was it worth the higher price to you since the Lite is supposed to automatically adjust to conditions?

I usually buy controllers that i can adjust weather i do it with a laptop or a switch. I've heard good things about the lite but I'm old and suspicious of a single map being optimum for all scenarios :)🤣😂🤣

I have been thinking of getting the 390, and was wondering, what is the difference between the Fuel X, and the ECU they sell. Does one eliminate the need for the other? Is the Fuelx enough to eliminate stalls? Will the ECU solve all the issues, and then I would not need the Fuel X? Any help would be appreciated.

The Fuel X works as a piggyback unit with the factory ECU it does not replace it. It will help smooth the motor and give you more power through out the rev range basically it fixes the lean fuel condition of the factory ECU. I never had stalling issues with mine so I can’t speak to what effect it may have but if the stalling is from a lean condition it should correct it 👍 best of luck with your purchase

Fuelx is closed loop ECU is open loop...google it...I have both on mine and it is a whole different bike...

You mentioned about the vibration...what rpm is it most prevalent?

It was mostly between 63kand 65k rpm felt primarily in the pegs. Still a little there but not like before 👍

@@leeinwis you are correct 6300 and 6500 rpm 😁 the KTM makes its best power high in the rev range

Does this fix the starting issue where it takes 3-4 times for ut to start and idle?

I've never had a starting issue with mine "even in stock tune" so i cant say if it will solve that issue. I do know the bike is terribly lean in factory tune so a fuel controller can only help that issue.

Fuel mileage is slightly better i think mostly because you don't have to wring its neck all the time. The throttle position in stock tune is easily 5% more for the same speed regardless of gear. I could also credit the less restrictive exhaust I've installed but the most noticeable difference is the fuel x. Biggest benefit of the fuel X is that the bike feels strong at all revs and in any gear , there are no flat spots anymore. For me It was money well spent. :)

Why did you have to replace swingarm bolt?

@@thebelligerentmechanic8916 Hope the replacement is of better quality KTM. Nuts and bolts are of poor quality material.

II think the biggest problem is that KTM doesn't have much faith in the connectors so they locktite everything :( I've stripped several fasteners by just trying to remove them. @@alexdesamsonow822

What # map are you running? I punched out the cat on stock header and deleted resonator. Running the real Akrapovik (yours looks dam nice too for knock off) and opened up airbox. Haven't ridden the bike a mile yet just got it.

Congrats on the bike :) I'm on map #5 . My elevation is 1000' i still have the stock header with the cat still in and the resonator deleted. I did leave the DB killer in the fake acro but i opened it slightly just for the pitch of the sound. I did try every map and settled on 5 as the most effective for the areas i ride. fuel mileage is a bit better than stock, the motor doesnt have to rev as high for the same speed , its a more relaxing ride.
