What do you mean annoyance? I was doing adventure training today and the stalling bucked me off the bike twice!. Broke my mirror and hand guard because of the stalls. Its actually dangerous! My coach kept telling me to give more revs. Great beginner bike and great for getting into adventure riding but this kind of malfunction can take the fun out of it fast. The MTC reset is also annoying but not quite as bad as this.
@thebelligerentmechanic8916

Sorry to hear that :( I called it an annoyance mostly because my experience wasn't as bad as yours " hopefully you are uninjured" mine would constantly stall and re light in motion " power on power gone " . I agree it is actually dangerous . After the kickstand bypass I've had zero issues with rough terrain stalling. I don't think KTM thought buyers like us would put the bike through its paces on rough off road riding. Don't give up on it just yet after you work these bugs out it is a very competent bike in most environments. :)

Almost 22.000 kms on mine and still counting… sitting here getting ready to ride through the Dolomites 🇮🇹 today. In that time a chain change, some electric problem during heavy rain (horn stopped working) and that’s about it. I bought one brand new in 2020, never even made it to 1400 miles, the abs board broke, then the forks started sticking, the head bearings went off and then the clutch started screaming and sticking. Never even made it to finishing the run in period before I returned it to the dealership. I've still got a 650 vstrom that hasn't let me down once since 2007, over 44 thousand miles. R.E. I just bought this bike, and was also surprised to find that in KTM-ese "tubeless" = "tube." I'm not going to be doing hard off-road rides, and probably a lot more road travel. So shall I: 1. Keep them, knowing if there's ever a flat I have to dismount the wheel, pry off the tire, then patch or replace the tube and reassemble? Yet how likely is that -- Not. I rode an '82 Suzuki for 15 years on alloy rims through two sets of tires/tubes and never had a flat. The flexibility of spoke wheels may further reduce that risk, especially with heavier tubes. Rare problem though complicated if it occurs. 2. Get a set of alloy rims? (See above "Suzuki" for reassuring experience.) Puncture repair as easy as plugging the tire. Unless it bends/breaks the rim, more likely than for the spoke rims. Rare event, simpler fix, though potentially more damaging. Maybe it's a wash, and I should just ride with what I have. A severe, least likely hit will ruin either set. Any thoughts?
