Hello, Fo the battery, just stack a CR123A + 2xLR44 in the compartment and you're good to go.

I just bought it. Full corporate kit. Case. Filter. Sun visors. Belt. Lid. Very good condition. Perfect. I have dedicated 5.6V Varta batteries without an adapter and 6V with an adapter. That's all you need. Two years ago I saw this rangefinder on YT and immediately liked it. And we did it.

@@robbellphoto and probably only dinosaurs remember the times when this camera cost several dollars. Now it has its price and it's very good👍

Take the Olympus 35 SP instead. The lense is outstanding.

Not sure about light leaks? You can always tape up gaps Tho you don't want to be doing that initially unless you don't mind. The lens is good But the prices some dealers ask are wrong I think. 199 for a camera where the light seals are gone or bulbs burnt out is not right. 99 or less 150 for fully serviced and usable I think that's ok Bit some won't even pay that..

I’m happy to tape the gaps for sure ! Makes me feel thrifty lol

Unfortunately let down by electronic only shutter without full range of shutter speeds sans battery. Also AE only. Meaning lack of creative control. The Yashica YF is the best Yashica 35 mm camera they ever built, the best Leica inspired camera they ever built, and basically Japan's answer to the Leica M3 but in screw mount. Built and designed by Nicca, who Yashica purchased in 1959. Now with the YF, you're really talking.

:-( 500-600 for a YF ….. so that’s a little high for my intended audience ;-). We’re hoping to make photography available to lower budgets and still feel like you’re doing a great job. Urgh I wish I could afford a decent modern Leica for sure.

@@robbellphoto Nothing wrong with the Electro 35, that can't be fixed by it's shutter converted to Mechanical, and manual exposure. Olympus 35 RC far superior as a shooter. Plus it has manual, albeit unmetered. And if you can't afford a YF, the YE, a Nicca or Tower RF is a darned fine Leica copy, and every bit as good.

Mmm yes the battery can be an issue but adapters are available from The Yashica Guy. Consider, every digital camera with a dead battery is just a shelf queen. Adjusting the ASA dial will alter the shutter speed, so there are work arounds.

@@dfiglide No manual, hard I won't buy it. I must have control over my shutter speeds. And be able to choose them. Or I have to carry along a tripod which is a bit bulky.

@@robbellphoto its the smaller verison of this and it doesnt need a special battery like this one does 40mm lens as well better in my opinion than 45
