Nice, you may need to turn around when you get out of the cab so it's the reverse of getting in for your safety. That is an awkward step alignment. it looks like the passenger side has a wider bottom tread not sure why they didn't do the same on the driver side. Hope the truck serves you well.

Great video and informative. Live PTO is there for dump trucks when spreading gravel on road; water tanker’s spraying water for construction and trucks spreading salt on icy roads. Seems like they should’ve asked if you required the PTO remain engaged while truck is moving. You check your coolant level before engine is warmed up.

I run a Mack with that same tarp system. I haul containers with mine but we have a swing arm type system that hoist the container on the bed

Most trucks I've driven you can grab the front of the seat, lift and pull out to extend the bottom seat cushion towards your knees. Blood flow in your legs is important and a safety issue. Also most new drivers ride to high which cuts off blood flow some. A mid/low back seat will give you a little more room in a day cab but I still think a good aftermarket seat is worth the investment for something you will spend a lot of time in.

That’s a big problem with door mounted mirrors the blind spot requires you to move back and forth in the seat to make sure you don’t have an accident

Nice truck. My only dislike is the location of the DEF Tank. My trucks have the DEF Tanks mounted next to the fuel tank so we can fill the DEF from the same side as the fuel.I'm taking delivery of truck #3 in January. It's a 2023 Mack Granite with a 75k Galfab Hoist. Can't wait.

here in NJ all commercial tag trucks are under DOT and subjected to inspection wow your hydraulic controlers look to be in a bad spot i drive mack granite roll off and going from a pete to the mack those mirrior are a problem you learn to look around them i haven't found a Mack that road nice and good luck with that seat i drove a new mak put sixty two thousand miles on it and got out of it everytime you hit a bump it wanted to eject you out of the seat thank God for the seat belt well kinda of when you hit a bump you go up then down the seat belt tightens up and now your being compressed and then the shoulder startes being sore all the time well good luck and be safe

With not CDL truck you’ll lose ability to pay loads,truck like this with the can will wait 20 plus thousand pounds,so you only left capacity to less 5-6 thousand pounds which is 2.5 tons

I’ve driven Mack trucks in the oilfield and they’re rugged and can handle a lot of work and abuse. With your truck being a day cab you won’t have many creature comforts especially the seats which is common with Mack trucks. You can upgrade the seats at many chrome shops, lube shops and other places. My choice of seats were Bostrom seats and enjoyed them every bit. The mirrors are just how Mack designs them to be, there’s really not much you can do about it unfortunately.

This truck is a NON-DOT vehicle in the state of Texas, no DOT and no CDL required. Under 26k GVWR, we have been pulled over MANY times here since I’ve bought this truck, never an issue.

Just because you are non CDL does not mean that you are not regulated by the DOT. They can and will stop you if they want to. We have been stopped by them in the past with our non CDL trucks. We love our swaploader hooklifts and roll rite tarping systems. You need to check out KW medium duty trucks. We started out with International/Freightliner trucks and found out those cabs don't stay together with the abuse of landfills. What I do not like about those trucks, is that the back of the engine goes up under the firewall and the center of the floor in the cab has a dogbox that you have to take half the interior, pull the dogbox out, to access that back of the engine. That is what I just saw with the Mack that you have there--engine pushed back into the cab some. With KW/Peterbilt, the entire engine sits in front of the cab/firewall so it is all accessible from the front. As far as the PTO, if you have an Allison 2000/2500 series transmission, then you have a hot shift pto and it works different than the PTOs on the 3000 and up series transmissions. I know what I have seen with most Medium Duty Macks they have the 2000 series transmissions. FYI--For what you paid for that Mack, you could have a nice KW setup similar to that with aluminum wheels, Roll Rite tarper and swaploader hook with toolbox. Check those out. You will love them.

For what he paid for that Mack he couldn’t get a kw, a kenworth is probably another 30k more easily. Kenworths aren’t cheap compared to Everything else

You could look at different seats they have different makes ane models of seats you would need to swap your base over they speced the truck with a lower end seat it dosnt have lumbar or a tilting back

@@lauramurray6690 I am sorry but you are 100% incorrect. DOT and CDL are two separate things. I am not "getting away" with anything. The truck is UNDER TEXAS DOT (TXDOT) because it is under 26k GVWR. Federal DOT only applies when you cross state lines, which I don't. CDL is also NOT required in TEXAS when you operate a vehicle that is under 26k GVWR and under 16 passengers. Again, this is TEXAS, I do not know what the state DOT requirements are where you are from.

I just called a company selling these particular units and he said the weight was 19k (2023 Mack MD6, 20,000 lb Palfinger Roll Off ) I must be missing something. I would like to get into this type of truck but have not got any further than the weight limitations. Could these be different trucks perhaps?

whoever installed that box did a big no no. at least where we have our trucks. there is no welding on the frame before the rear axle. that should have been bolt mounted. might give you some serious issues.
