As a Yotes fan you do have a bit of a dog in the fight. You have the Oilers' 3rd round pick so it would be earlier if they're eliminated earlier (though obviously there's no difference if they're eliminated in the first round vs the second round).

Seeing as how unpredictable the playoffs will be, I’d say it’s going to be Carolina against Seattle or LA in the Cup Finals with the Canes walking away as champs in 6 games. The only way to stand a chance in these bracket challenges is to throw logic out the window completely. It’s like March Madness, nothing is a guarantee.

Just gonna throw this in there, McDavid only scored a single goal against Vegas all regular season no matter who was in net, people are sleeping on our defense, namely the blocking prowess of Martinez and McNabb

Not a leafs fan, but I can see them winning a series this year. Here’s why: This leafs core has failed to win a round 5 years straight. They know that. That’s deep in their minds. Following a year where they blew a 3-1 series lead to their French Canadien rivals who weren’t even supposed to be in the playoffs, the Leafs came in the playoffs the next year being one of the best teams in the league. Their first round matchup was the back to back champs and came SOOOO close to knocking them off fell just short. They have that fresh in their minds. They also saw the champs lose(the avs laid the blueprint on how to beat the bolts) now, the leafs know they’re gonna play the bolts again. They’ve known that for a while now and have probably been preparing for this for months now. They’re gonna let all the frustrations of heartbreak and criticism fuel them. They’ll leave it out on the ice and beat the lightning. Don’t get me wrong, the bolts are still a good team, but I can see the leaf’s quite possibly beat them in 5 in round one. Lot of leafs haters may think I’m stupid since they always lose in round one, but nothing stays the same forever…2018 Capitals anyone? Look it’s also quite possible too that the leafs could choke again blowing expectations like usual, but idk, something just feels different this time. Yea, I thought they should’ve beaten the jackets in 2020, the habs in 2021, and they lost so why should this year be different? Because They BARELY lost to the BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONS last year and they know ahead of time that they’re gonna play them again. All the motivation is there or at least it should be. Idk, maybe I’m wrong but we’ll see. Idk what to really make of the leafs if they do get past round one. Do they ride the momentum and go all the way or do they let the first round get to their heads and then not be prepared for round two? Idk, but I can’t wait to see what happens. The East is insane this year.

Oilers do seem fortunate to have an easier path to the final in a weaker Western Conference, but can't see them defeating Boston. Oilers basically have to hope Skinner is up to the challenge, and their D core holds up. Great PP, but fewer PP opportunities in the playoffs. I want to go with the Avs, but no Landeskog, Kadri, and no activity at the trade deadline for a 2C.

Dude, your are making the same mistake people make every year. Boston and Edmonton will get theyre asses handed to them at some point it just inevitable. Boston will sweep Florida and will lose to either Toronto or tampa and Edmonton i doubt will get passed LA. The underdog i this pos season is either Toronto or Dallas cause if either of them get rolling they will flatten anyone in they’re way.

@@seanhartel5362 you were the one only focusing on Mac. Now don't get me wrong I like the Avs, but the team definitely got weaker than last year. Their first 2 lines are really good, but no real depth after that. They only signed Eller at the deadline. And Landeskog won't even be playing this year. Georgiev is having a strong season, but he's not a top 5 goalie. Not even a top 10 in advanced stats like GSAx. Dallas on the other hand is a much better team than a year ago, they also have more depth. It's definitely not gonna be a one-sided series if they play in the second round.

@@tomblade yo, no depth? They have pretty much the same bottom 6 as last year: Cogliano, Newhook, O’Connor, Helm, Nieto, Malgin. Their bottom six is really good and their defensive core is the same except they have Girard playing this time. I only see a drop off with Kadri. Burakovsky has been supplemented by Compher and Lehkonen. They’ve only seemed to get weaker because they didn’t have Byram, Manson, Nichuskin, EJ, and Makar for considerable stretches of the season. When they’re healthy, they are very dangerous, even without Landeskog.

Unless carolina just collapses in the playoffs, there's no real reason we should lose to the islanders. we're 3-1 on them this season, 2-0 without svechnikov and both of those 2 wins were not close. If we play our game we will win in 4 or 5. 🤞

Ilses system in the playoffs works really well and that's the reason they went to the ECF back to back years. I think just because you beat them in the regular season it means nothing. They have the grit to match Carolina and the way they score goals are playoff style ones. Sorokin is better than Anderson and ranta so I think he can steal a game or two. It'll definitely be a close series but I do think Carolina wins it in 7.

@@michaelkirkpatrick7483 idk man, I kinda see Dallas as a more complete team as of now, the avs are good and Nate is playing really good but let’s not forgot about the Dallas 1st Line and their 2nd 3 lines complementing along with the 4th line putting pressure on teams. If you saw the games this season, they where great games between them both but I feel like the stars got the shorter end of the stick since they lost in ot and they lost in a back to back when the avs had 2 rest days, I feel like Dallas is on the low a better team than the avs since they have big injuries and also didn’t really add to their roster in the deadline.

I gotta disagree on your Stars vs Wild take. Stars have slightly more offensive depth but the Wild completely outclass the Stars in defensive depth, and as good as Oettinger has been, the Wild’s goaltending tandem has been better this year. The Wild have been a top 5 team the second half of the season and a lot of that was without Kaprizov. Im saying Wild in 6. This is coming from a Leaf fan who loves hockey and loves your content, keep up the great work brotha!

I think the goaltending won’t be enough for the oilers. Remember it’s a long playoff. People get hurt. People don’t perform. You can try to predict it but honestly could be very different. If the bruins stay healthy they will be lights out.
