While I agree the Wild are most likely a 3rd place team the insinuation that I keep seeing is that they have 8 mil in cap space. THEY DO NOT! They still need to resign Gus and one more RFA. Luckily the team has resigned Brandon Duhaime who is a great bottom sixer and workman player. The Wild lost a lot of players that they picked up at the trade deadline and Matt Dumba. Overall the Wild are in a tough spot with very little actual cap space and with many of its best prospects still working the pipeline.

Wow, the Buffalo disrespect. The idea that none of the young guys get any better and the top guys go backwards seems a bit ridiculous to me. Theres no way they could be worse defensively and in goal than they were last year and were one point away from the playoffs. I also see Boston dropping way off. Maybe not out of the playoffs but they're losing a lot of important pieces. I wouldnt be surprised to see them below 100 pts.

@@leodickens3202 The Atlantic Division is a tough division although last season the Bolts took a big step back, losing their 1st-round playoff series to the Leafs. I have the Bolts finishing no better than 4th in that division, with the Panthers IMO a stronger bet to finish in a top-3 spot in that division than the Bolts. As for the Sabres, maybe this season will be the 1st one for awhile that features a playoff appearance.

I agree. If they had 50-75% less injuries this last season, they would not have been selecting even top 10 in the draft. Buffalo at 7 is outrageous. Playoff bound or 5th at the very least. You also forgot about Luukkonen who could be a great backup for Levi, and with the additions to the defense, these two will get a lot better. Since they were 3rd in GF last season, all the team has to do is bring down the GA, and with the added depth to the defense it is more than likely they will qualify for playoffs. Massively underrated.
@mattmason3592 Жыл бұрын
He harped on Quinn's loss, but Quinn was the 8th best point producer last year, so that's not a loss. Plus they have potential rookies to cover for him. And Clifton / Johnson aren't going to wow anyone, but Buffalo really just lacked a middle pairing defenseman from having a decent if not solid defensive group. And you're right that Comrie will be buried and we'll see UPL as the backup. I would've liked to see a solid veteran here on a 1 to 2 year contract to pair with Levi, but UPL can improve over his rookie season. Every area on the Sabres that you see a "maybe" was a "no" last year, so they are certainly better. Nobody in that top 4 of the division really got better and some have regressed, so there's more opportunities to take points. Yeah, having Buffalo regress this year is a bit of a hot take IMO. It seemed like everyone took Detroit and Ottawa over Buffalo last year and that didn't age well. I'm surprised it's still happening, but haters gonna hate.
@dawsonk7929 Жыл бұрын
@@mattmason3592 Yeah i love quinn, but you plug savoie into that sheltered role with cozens and whoever else on the otherside, we could see possibly even better production, point being we have great young prospects to fill his loss for the first couple months, and yeah no chance that comrie gets time, this is upl's last shot at proving what he has got and i think he will prove to be a capable back up to levi. I think it's a bold take to say we will finish worse than last year, especially guys like power, peterka, krebs, etc. all looking to take the next step and solidify their role on this team. The biggest problem last year was defense beyond power dahlin and samuelsson, and goaltending, levi becoming our starter is huge, considering our best goalie was the oldest guy in the league, and then getting someone our coach knows and put his neck out for in cliffton and e.j with the stanley cup pedigree is an upgrade over guys like bryson, stillman, and all the other fringe nhl defenders, so while they didn't make any flashy moves in F.A, the sabres really haven't made a flashy signing since Skinner and we all know how that turned out.

@@omfg322 the canucks also have alot of question marks too... Can Soucy, Cole, Hronek and Blueger make our PK at least respectable? will Mikheyev, Hronek and Demko stay healthy? 4 new teams made the playoffs last year. So my 4 new teams to make it would be the Flames, Predators, Sabres and Senators. I have the Jets, Wild, Islanders and Lightning falling out
@bodhithomas5684 Жыл бұрын
Lightning won’t fall out, most likely Boston from that division. Tampa and Toronto are the safest teams to predict to make the playoffs in the Atlantic
@edited1325 Жыл бұрын
@@bodhithomas5684have you seen the bottom six for Tampa? Not to mention the defense problem
@bodhithomas5684 Жыл бұрын
@@edited1325 defense problem? The blue line is pretty strong and quite young too. And the bottom 6 isn’t terrible compared to other Atlantic teams. Sheary and Paul can bring depth scoring, Eyssimont is fast and generates energy, Glendening is a beast in the faceoff, and Archibald plays a physical game that suits the 4th line. Then a young guy like Koepke will get another chance to play in the bottom 6.
@edited1325 Жыл бұрын
@@bodhithomas5684 totally mid I mean seriously do you honestly expect them to win anything with that “depth” 💀
@bodhithomas5684 Жыл бұрын
@@edited1325 in comparison to other Atlantic teams, that’s actually ok depth. Now that Bergeron has retired, Boston’s top center is Coyle. They’re missing the playoffs. Lightning are guaranteed a playoff spot still and that depth can change at the trade deadline. Also you haven’t been watching if you think the defense is mid. Perbix and Raddysh were great and I don’t have to say anything about Hedman or Sergachev. Also most team’s bottom six aren’t that good at the start of the year either. It’s a pretty standard bottom 6 it’s just we’re used to seeing 2nd line caliber players on the Lightning’s 3rd line. Lightning have the least question marks of any Atlantic team going into the regular season. I take back what I said about Toronto tho, they’re not quite safe.

I agree with a lot of this video, my biggest complaint is I don’t personally agree with the NJD winning against FLA, the Devs are a solid team built for the future. High octane and high offensive output but for the most part, unproven and untested against teams like Boston, Florida and other NHL clubs that are very physical and “In your face”. Ultimately if this was the conference final, I think that Florida and Jersey would go to 6 or 7 but Florida would end up taking it just due to Jersey not being able to withstand the onslaught and relentlessness that Florida gives. Just my take, great video.

Agree.. devils are too young of a team to win the cup... it doesnt happen very often because the first 8 years of people careers is all about the money... only when you have a team full of 30 somethings on their final contracts will you see them give it their all in the playoffs... because they have nothing to lose. If they get injured they get a nice LTIRetirement contract

Dallas offense will drop off.Roberton had a crazy start ,Pavelski finally had a really bad slump,Jamie Benn will resort to his previous bad years and they lack depth scoring. Nashville. is insane they have some good defense but no scoring at all. Yep NJ is a solid team that I expect to be a contender for at least 4-5 straight years. I picked Carolina last year but two injuries cost them some offense and losing Burns is imo a big mistake so I am not picking them this year. I am not ready to pick the cup winner yet I want to see some preseason games but I am leaning on NJ. Columbus needed defense and went out and got it good job I expect a rebound season.

Last year the defense was historically bad and I can’t see them playing any worse so I think that aspect will only be better. I think we are primed for a very very solid season contrary to so many nhl and even islanders fans who are too worked up about Lou doing nothing. Lou yes has not done well. He has prevented us from being a true contender and made it so we will probably be a lottery team for a good chunk of time but the fact is this is still a very solid team that has had its misfortunes the past season with rough player performances and key injuries

LA didn't lose any depth on D Durzi was a liability on defense, and Edler was completely washed he was one of the slowest players I've seen in a few seasons they both got abused by Edmonton.. Brandt Clarke or Jordan Spence will take Durzi's spot, and Kupari isn't a loss at all you can easily replace his 9 goals/29 points in 130 games. Iafallo is the only depth they really lost, but i agree with them being 3rd

Right away we are close I have the standings a little different my pacific standings are much different, long playoff seasons always puts a damper on next seasons regular season... again I believe the pacific got worse especially Calgary>>>Vegas>>Oilers>seattle Where LA and Vancouver will improve significantly... La>>Vancouver... and I predict Edmonton gets 106, LA Gets 105, Vegas Gets 100, Vancouver gets 98, seattle gets 96... I actually have Dallas winning the West at 108 points, Colorado Gets 105, Nashville at 98 points, Minnesota at 95 points, Winnepeg at 94 on the metro i have basically the same but Atlantic would have Boston and florida being a coin flip for second and Ottawa flipped with tampa... with Ottawa winning the last playoff spot... I also dont think detroit and buffalo will finish that low and give Buffalo a darkhorse rating to maybe surprise (There core is set to take the next step and could build on last seasons success, exactly how i predict LA Dallas and Vancouver to improve
