After a year of owning my MY23 TIL it's one of the best cars i have owned. Heaps of room and power, and no annoying beeps and bongs every 2 mins. I put a new head unit which bought alive the TIL's stereo which now sounds a whole lot better with a bigger screen + a lot better sat nav etc. I also put in the digital dash which makes reading the speed so much better and the layout is a lot better as well. They're a tried and test car in Australia and I can see why they're bought, too bad the MY24 TIL doesn't have everything my one does.

Why is it so popular? Because Australians often prefer familiarity to cutting edge; look at the Landcruiser 79, i30, Hilux, CX-5, Corolla… all comparatively ancient in new car terms but selling in big numbers.

Keeps getting said about it is so big. It is shorter than every dual cab ute. Only 7cm wider than a ranger and thinner than a raptor but nothing is said about that. It is no different from other big wagons, palisade, Touareg, CX9 etc etc.

Just wait till you see a new Patrol with V6 twin-turbos like GTR or Pathfinders 2.5 L4 supercharged hybrid while this V8 Patrol needs a supercharger to be a 4x4 hot rod.

Nissan couldn’t give them away when they first arrived. It’s funny how they’re now so popular. I’ve had mine for nearly 9 years, it has Nissan foibles but I love that engine.

5.6 gas engine was problem for y62 model i dont know if they corrected or not?? it is horrible engine.

@@derekjarrett4011 i dont mean the power and smoothness itself. i know power and smoothnes is great. i mean lifespan. they start to eat oil very soon and goes on and on. how ever 4.0 version is great i think. i have seen professional reviews.

huge problem for current patrol / armada is that they dont have a diesel option. it is critical deal-breaker.
