Man.. Jomez coverage still continues to stomp live. Cohesive and engaging storytelling, paired up with flawless filming and announcing. Take me back to the days when we weren't bulldozed with trash commercials, sub-par announcing, and disjointed coverage of a smattering of throws. That's not evening mentioning the amount of blurry 480p moments that get sprinkled throughout live because of connection issues on their side.

I'm hoping that in 5 years the dgpt will have enough retained earnings to afford better everything and live coverage will be almost indistinguishable from Jomez post produced

Somehow Jomez coverage and production values keep improving. But I think live scoring is best for a live event. There's so much more information to process, comparing scores and holes to play. I have to pause the video frequently to make sense of the brief leaderboard checks at the end of every hole. Especially this year, when the chase cards keep making moves, seeing someone's journey chasing down the leaders from hole one is more entertaining than trying to do the math to see if they've really caught up or not.
@the1version422

Maybe this is a stupid question, but since this is post-live coverage, why can’t they show everyone’s score through the same number of holes as the lead card?

@@wakimura303 Very interesting! In that case, I’d prefer the standings stay on the screen a bit longer and they made it a point to talk about what it meant at the end of each 9. I find it more confusing than it is insightful to show live standings. Just my opinion!

Short comment on the ”luck-factor”: golf is to me a lot about about composure. Every player will get good and bad breaks, the best in the world are the one’s who are able to bounce back from bad breaks and that doesn’t get too excited when being lucky. You never know what the course will give you but if you are able to stay in your lane and find your focus for every shot over a 5-day event then chances are you will do quite well :)
@jamisonryon3009
@jamisonryon3009 Жыл бұрын
100% agree...I think an element of "good breaks and bad breaks" makes a course interesting...its not a "gimme" to the guy with the big arm, or one specialty...same with raised baskets...variety on the course shows me, the viewer, who the real big dog is...if you cant, as a pro, manage some bad breaks, it just shows me you have some deficits in your game. Im extrapolating the logic behind why we like courses that have some long and short baskets, some open and wooded, some windy and protected...the #1 pro, can handle all these things vs the guy who can park every 600' hole, but cant shape anything through the woods...

What I have a problem with is Robinsons drive on hole one that is clearly OB and hits a spectator or whoevers backpack and comes back into play. This is the type of "luck" that should not exist and does not exist in any professional sport.

Isaac Robinson keeps the tradition going at Fox Run Meadow! Can't even believe it. A second time in 2 years on Fox Run Meadows, an object left by someone kicked a disc back in bounds. Last year in Final Round, Ricky Wysocki on hole #14, hit a guys umbrella and coffee mug and the disc kicked in bounds. Chris Dickerson is reliving it with his wife saying remember how I clawed back to tie Ricky on 16, and I laid up on #17 then threw OB on #18 and lost to Ricky at GMO 2022. I was sick for Chris when I was there witnessing it. I wish people would leave objects for me to hit to kick back in bounds in my tournaments:(
