I use a simple yearly planning calendar which is divided into months. I use it to jot down my daily appts, reminders, and goals, and I also use seasonal stickers in it. I have used this method for several years, and it is very helpful for checking back to see what I did and when. I think your archivist's love of record keeping and tracking is reflected in your love of organization and daily recording! Thank you for your ideas!

I have a degree in archives/library science though work in a different field and it's totally true that there's a compulsion to be able to look back and see what happened on what day years ago! 😅

I love all your videos, however I found you due to Powersheets and love your planning videos. I only did one year of Powersheets and I too am departing from them. So excited to plan for 2023 no matter what the outcome!!!

I used to be a start a new planner every year person, but I turned 40 this year and just outgrew the ritual... I've learned about myself that I do better when I think and operate in seasons/quarters so I started a new planning system for fall and winter and so far, I'm liking my planner system. I use jstory monthly and stalogy daily for personal planning. I do a two page daily spread in my stalogy. I use moleskine professional at work and I love it. Cheers to you and 2023! ✨

happy new decade, Mariandrea! I love seasonal planning and want to learn how to live seasonally outside my planner (like season eating!) cheers to the new year, friend!!

I used Lavendaire's Artist of Life workbook and Weekly Reset Planner all of 2022 and really enjoyed both! (I'm trying the Saint Belford Curation Planner for 2023 just to switch it up)

I was really interested in getting the reset planner too! I haven't heard of that planner...I'll have to check it out.

I used the Dragontree Dreambook and Planner for five years. I loved it. However, like you mentioned with the Powersheets, I outgrew the prompts. Doing the same thing month after month or quarter after quarter or year after year for so many years makes them less impactful sometimes. I still refer back to my Dreambook and Planner when I am doing goal prep work and seasonal life reviews, but I don't know if I will ever get another one in the future. I loved my Powersheets planner last year, but I didn't use most of it. I did all of the goal prep work at the beginning of the year, and I loved it. It was very similar to the way the Dreambook and Planner does gold prep work, but slightly different, and the nuance of the Powersheets combined with the Dreambook really helped me set better goals. I didn't like that it was so large and I couldn't take it with me anywhere. My favorite part was the monthly specific goals and all of the color coding for goals. That is something that I have taken away from the Cultivate What Matters planner system and will use for the foreseeable future in any planner system I purchase or set up for myself. It really helps to have the intention of setting small goals each month that worked towards your big goals. Last year I picked up a small wire-bound planner from a box store to use for managing my day-to-day activities and tasks. Just as I set up my Powersheets every month with stickers and intentions for the month, each week I set up my small planner. I found that I could do most of the Powersheets work on my own in the little planner. Since I'm living abroad this year, I can't order most of the popular planners out there because of shipping costs and customs fees, so this year I just got another little planner. Any journaling I want to do during gold prep or reviews I do in a small paper journal that I buy in bulk and completely wreck with stickers and stamps and sketches and doodles and anything else I want. I'm grateful for the years I used the Dreambook and Planner and the Powersheets. I got a ton out of them. Maybe I'll buy a fancy planner for 2024, but for 2023, I'm going it on my own with the wisdom I've gleaned from the last six years of planning.

I have the Dreambook pdf undated version and printed out the prep work to help me narrow down goals for this year.

Hello KZbin friend! Thanks so much for another great video. I’m watching as my husband & I drive back from Hickory, NC to Virginia Beach, VA. We’ve been visiting some family. Anyway, this year, I also moved away from the powersheets and into the companion goal setting book system from Makselife. I LOVE the portability of them. So those will be my goal setting system. As for my planner system, I’m a long time user of the Hobonichi cousin!!!! In my opinion, it is perfect. I make all my to do lists in the weekly’s and do all my journaling/memory keeping in the daily pages. And I like that it’s only one small book to store when the year is over. I wanted to mention that your cute cover is actually a cover-on-cover. That means you will need a Hobonichi cousin cover to put it onto. Otherwise, it will be too big. It’s really cute! I got the same one this year & bought the dark purple cover to put it on. I’m pretty sure you can find a cousin cover on Amazon & on Jetpens. I’ve never seen that goal planner you shared but it’s really nice!

hope you had a good trip! I had my eye on Makselife a few years ago but just didn't align with it. so happy to hear your great experience with Hobonichi, and thank you for telling me about the cover...when I opened it I was so confused because it looked a lot bigger than the book. what a rookie mistake on my part, lol!

I agree with many reasons why you are switching things up, but also what you have learned from using them. I started following you because of PowerSheets and because of the way you shared your goals, process, etc. I stayed after you started adding different layers to your planning and sharing more of your life (reading, job, food, book shopping, and more). I think you had under 300 subscribers when I discovered your channel! It's been fun seeing you grow in many ways. 😊 I'm still here, regardless of your planning system. I will be using PowerSheets again this year, but who knows how it will flow with some of the changes. I do plan on using printables from Kalyn Brooke's Brainbook Library in a discbound notebook for more daily tasks and another discbound for my Bible reading, devotions from church, and sermon notes.

@@SheilaJoy, you are truly a joy (😉) to watch! And let me tell you, I cannot find anyone who shares their PowerSheets process like you did. Keeping shining, Sheila! I can't wait to watch your latest video tomorrow morning. 😊

This was really helpful! I was so disappointed when PS went to wire-O binding, but had decided I didn't need that much in-depth prep work at the time and also that so much space ended up being wasted. For '23 the plan is to use the MakseLife companion notebooks I have from last year that didn't get used, but Artist of Life looks really interesting since ML prep work is minimal. That cover is super cute!

I’m new to this whole planning thing, i’m only used to journaling, but lately i’ve found myself needing a planner. I thought this was interesting however I think having to pre-prepare the planning and keeping up with all the goals and everything would be too stressful (which is also why I think bujos are gorgeous but dont work for me) so I think i’ll just get myself a cheap basic planner to get started with
@SheilaJoy2 жыл бұрын
we all have different planner needs! I understand not wanting to keep up with things on a reoccurring basis. I feel the same way about bullet journals and ended up quitting that earlier this year lol.
@newchapterasmr2 жыл бұрын
@@SheilaJoy Right. Because at least for me, the planner is supposed to make my life easier, not stress me out by having to ‘pre-prepare it’. But I totally understand that it could be enjoyable and relaxing for others!

I have not found a planner that works for me. I like the bujo method but think I need a spiral notebook. I prefer to flip the notebook over to write on the paper.

This will be my 3rd year doing the Artist of Life Workbook. I absolutely love it! This size is perfect. It’s fairly neutral and very good to get creative with stickers, washi and pens. In 2021 and 2022 I tipped in dividers (with washi tape), the binding and paper holds up really well. It will lay flat. I suggest pressing them down from font to back to break the binding. I’m also using the Weekly Rest Planner this year and I love it. Lavendaire products are top tier. I tried Powersheets this year for the first time and I enjoyed the prep work but the monthly layouts and tending list is not my style. I’m not really a tracker as much as I’m a journaler and lister. I agree with you about the prepare well page. I needed more. I’ll also be using the new Summer Fridays self-care rituals daily planner and Go Getter Girl large notebooks for vision/creative journaling because their paper quality and covers are fantastic.

Love it! Thanks for sharing, so interesting to see the Artist of Life flip through! I would love more prompts too, though I will stick with PS this year for that. Might add in my own journal. I am using a full year PS for my personal goals and trying out the 90 day version for work. For my planner I print inserts and have a ring system, it gives me flexibilty to switch layouts up without having to get a whole new book.

I'm excited for new prompts! I always wanted to try the 90 day planner but just never thought I'd needed it. I can see it being great for a big project, so maybe one day I'll try it out!
