2023 PROJECT OF THE MONTH Challenge! Organization Tips & Show and Tell. I share my 2022 Journal!

We introduce the 2023 Project of the Month, share a little about our goals for a Block of the Month and Mystery Quilt series in 2023, and more, and of course, we'll be continuing our Celebrating the States Block of the Month project!!!
We challenge everyone everywhere to pick out 12 projects you want to accomplish in 2023.They can be any type or size of project you want! Quilts, home dec, scrapbooking projects, clothing, Legos, art pieces, any category, it's your choice! Write the list down, numbering them one through twelve. Find a way to store them so they are accessible and easy to find. The first week of each month we will present a video to pick the number for the project that month. Then it's time to work on whatever project we pick for that month!! Get It Done!!
We know it is sometimes hard to motivate yourself to finish old projects or start on a project that is intimidating. We want to help you get over the hurdle and help you create and enjoy the satisfaction of a finished project! Let's do this together!!

The Quilted Forest is located at 205 North Clark in Forest City, IA. Our phone number is 641-585-2438. We stock patterns, books, notions, batting, and fabric for sewing and quilting projects. Our shop is filled with finished quilts and smaller projects to provide plenty of inspiration. We are open Monday - Friday, 10am to 5pm, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday. We are in the central time zone.

An advanced beginner here. I realize this tutorial is from last year but your organized bins/projects really inspired me. I've bought fabrics for projects, brought them home, and then got busy in life, fabrics/projects got forgotten and now I'm scratching my head so this is really going to help. Thank you! I just found your channel with the 2023 BOM project. I love your idea of a project per month - I am pretty sure I already have at least 12 boxes of unfinished projects that I could use. Just found you. Thank you for the project of the month program. I am going to do this 🤞. I just got some of my sewing put together after about a year and a half of waiting for our new house to get done. I haven't sewn anything for a long time. I think this will help me get back to work! Thanks!

I have done this for a couple of years. I post my list of projects on my bulletin board with a check column for started/topfinished/completed. I also designate July as the Catch Up month to finish anything that is not done from the first six months.

Our guild used to do this as well. It was a great way to stay accountable and get items finished. We'd always bring them in for show and tell the following month

The lid is approximately 15" x 11", and the bin is approx 7" tall. The brand of bin is "Sterilite", and you can pick those up at a Target or other department store.

I only do bed size quilts. Piece, appliqué and long arm quilt myself. I can see me doing a quarterly project but not monthly. What is the point of a tiny quilt except maybe for a sample in a store

One idea if you want to follow along is to break each project up into pieces: Piecing the top, quilting, binding. It's all about enjoying your hobby.
