2023 Shimano Vanquish - LIGHTEST REEL TODAY!

The Vanquish is a phenomenon reel. It's known for its light weight and low retrieving inertia. Probably the best reel out there for ultralight and finesse fishing. I haven't tried the Exist SF yet but its better than the regular Exist and Airity, in terms of low resistance handle turning.

I actually pick up 2 of them; a 1000SSSP and C2000S this year and almost cost me my marriage 😂. I pair up the 1000 size with the Shimano 21 Cardiff Native Special 54UL-2 rod for trout fishing and it's amazingly nice and smooth, the setup is so light i feel like holding air.

Lol I'm the opposite I bought the c2000s and after trying it, my wife wanted one too. After getting the 1000ssspg for her, I fell in love with the 1000 size so I'm returning the c2000s and getting a 2nd 1000ssspg

Twin power is a power reel for heavier finesse applications the vanquish is for the lighter finesse both are great reels.

It's not that one is better than the other. Outside of personal opinion of course! They are both top tier reels. Just below Stella. The Vanquish is designed for those where weight is the priority. MGL rotor family. The Twin Power has more metal (and a little Ci4) as durability is given a higher priority. Core Solid family. It is extremely smooth but with a more durable feel. Zero flex. But still a light reel. I have a 2024 4000 PG Twin Power on the way from Japan. I also got an extra 5000 size spool. The 4000 and 5000 have the same size body. So you can swap spool size. Mine is mainly for chasing Pike with lures. The Twin Power is still not a heavy reel by most standards. Although it is compared to the Vanquish! We have so much choice these days.

Chewy, I absolutely love my Vanquish's. I have 5 of the 19' Versions and recently purchased the 23' model's in c2000S and c2000shg for Trout, Panfish and light Bass fishing. I love the new upgrades on the 23'. Soooo smooth, light and cast incredible, however the 19' Vanquish's were just about perfect and I noticed the start up inertia on the 19' models is actually better than the 23'. Still great reels though.

What I noticed is the oscillation of the spool is very very slow compared to other reels having worm oscillation mechanism which is good actually and gives very precise and perfect line lay.

Check out the Plueger President XT line of reels. Size 25 only weighs 7.0ounces, while size 30 weight 7.7 ounce. You will not find a lighter reel for the price. Bass pro had them on sale for $59.00. Very comfortable cork handle. You cannot beat the build quality not the weight for the price!

I really like the President reels. They are arguably the best bang for the buck. Solid builds, reliable and worth every penny. They are the Toyota's of the spinning reels :)

Chewy good stuff brother!!! any reason why you went with the XG model instead of HG or any of the other models? I have a the new FK Stella an the reel feels off balance on the NRX + since it's heavier. I'm trying to decide on which model to get since I'm targeting white bass, walleyes, & 20inch + wipers.

Thanks for watching! 2500 and 3000 will get the job done. Anything under 2500 will be underpowered and anything over 3000 is over power for bass.

Twin power delivers more power when fighting fish. Vanquish is a lot lighter and can handle those trout lures better. I would go vanquish.

The Twinpower is more like the Stella. It's more of a Bass reel. You can't go wrong with the Vanquish C2000s or C2000SHG for Trout.

Absolutely but for a fraction of the cost, the stradic FM is better than the Vanford - if you are just looking for the next reel that would be better than the Vanford

That is the idea behind it. The twin power is a totally different reel. TP is more for more fishing whereas Vanquish is more finesse or for normal applications.

very smooth but also i did kinda redid the grease lighter and some bush replaced it to bearings... i like my ultralight reel to spin easy with less resistance.. i still need a good amount of time see how the bearings will do under loads of uses ect... @@ChewyThaoFishing

Great question! I don't know if i have ever encountered a reel being too light for a rod - unless, the rod is terribly balanced. As long as the megabass is well balanced, i think you should be just fine.

Wind Buster is bit tip heavy so a stella or exsence is much better to balance the rod

Website claims it can hold 145 yards of 12lb braid. When i spooled mine, it seems about right as the spool of 150 yards was almost out when finish spooling.

Hey Felix - ebay runs many sales periodically. I normally get alerted via email or just by the ebay app. I don't know if this helps but i have been an ebay member since mid 2000's and have sold/bought on there pretty consistently. Ebay is a goldmine for high end fishing product.

European anglers are 'fortunate' i guess, the Vanquish can be bought at tackle shops everywhere around the country. The Daiwa 23Airity is just a hair lighter compared at same size.😅😊

When you said this is a beautiful reel, I stopped watching. It looks cheap like any other 100 dollar reel. Take Airity or Stella in your hand and then you'll see what a beautiful reel feels like. Yes, it has a great rotation and is amazing piece of equipment but it definitely doesn't come close to beauty.

Beautiful is subjective - everyone’s definition of beauty is not all the same. Silly reason to not watch the full video but again, everyone has their own opinion and right. I’ve fished the Stella, airity and the exist. This reel is on par, if not better than some. But again, my opinion will always be different than yours - which is okay. Appreciate the comment.
