2023 Skoda Karoq SEL Tdi Tow Car (12 month Owner review)

Hi Folks its now 12 months since buying the Skoda Karoq SEL Tdi. So what is it like as a Tow Car. Also I show you some of the features I like and some I don't. Thanks for watching. Phil

Haha. I've got a similar mat in my Ford. I love a clean car and so do you! Like the semi automatic towball and combined hook up. Originally my hook up was buried under the bumper!! I had to get it moved to save my back, knees, head :-)

Hi Martin. Yes the tow bar is a lot easier to use. I had cleaned inside prior to filming but noticed more dust in it when editing. I think I need new glasses. many Thanks Phil🙂👍

Good update review Phil and a sparkling clean car as expected from you 👍. Love all the features you’ve shown and the best bit is the factory folding tow bar. My folding tow bar release is manual but it is an earlier A6. I always use the inbuilt sat nav it’s excellent but I always check Google maps / street view on the computer before the towing journey. Hi Rob n Gail. Thanks for watching. The tow bar is great, it was worth the cost. I noticed you use the onboard sat nav. I have to say I just can't get on with it. I have messed with the settings but i am still not confident in it. It has sent us down some very questionable Tracks not roads. When towing I still use my Tom Tom Camper Go! never let me down. Great video Phil 👍 we have had three Hyundai’s and couldn’t fault them. Last year we fancied a change so got 2020 Skoda Karoq 4x4 2.0tdi sportline and absolutely love it 👍 great towbar.

Hi Carl. I have had two and a lot of Audi's prior but I have to admit I love my Karoq more. You get a lot more equipment for your money. VW & Audi charge extra for most of the kit i have as standard. Thanks and enjoy your karoq. Phil👍🙂

Another well presented video! I looked at the Karoq and the Kodiaq but opted for the L and K Kodiaq. Both cars have different features which you either love or live with. I have the electric tow ball fitted as well and was using the tow ball cap like yours. I found that it harbours the water causing the towball to rust. I now use parcel cling film wrapped around the ball with a zip tie tightly secured which seems to work far better during winter. A little rust appears but not as much as the tow ball sitting in water in the tow ball cap. Keep up the good work!

Hi Phil a really nice motor, build quality looks excellent. The deployable tow bar is a fabulous feature, breakaway cable and socket on the arm is a great design. 😁👍

Hi Phil 👋 thanks for sharing. Nice and love the tow bar. It's a really good feature. We have the wind deflectors and are just getting some for Sarah's new to her car as well. Depending on fuel prices, our car takes about £90 to fill. Great flat floor plenty of room. Love an automatic. never looked back on that it's a must, in my opinion. Radio 2 😅 LBC is the best 😆 rear camera is great we have it on the kia. Takecare Phil

The trouble with this type of Tow Bar is they only allow a low weight front end. I have one on my BMW 2.3d, 1 series and it limits compared to a static one, but it’s nice to have.

Hi Phil. My tow bar allows up to 90 kgs which is not bad considering the size of the car. My A6 after market one was the same 90 kgs. I suppose it it down the manufacturer. I do prefer it. Thanks Phil🙂👍

I have one and the limit is 100kg on a Mazda cx60 phev and have no problem towing.
