Thanks for bringing the energy...even though you are talking to a camera in a shed, we are all here virtually ;)

I am hyped for whatever you will be doing next year! Humble and ROS Control sounds great. Maybe take us with you on the journey to make the Tormach able to take commands from MoveIt (if that isnt planned anyway)

Thanks heaps for doing these videos - they've been really good. Are there any DIY/low end robot arms you'd recommend for working along with the new series?
@ArticulatedRobotics2 жыл бұрын
No, unfortunately. Robot arms is an area I have very little experience in and I had planned to start exploring the DIY space before Tormach reached out. I suspect the next series may end up being a bit more about general principles behind manipulators and their applications rather than a step-by-step guide (which I would still like to do one day).

@@ArticulatedRobotics Thanks for the reply! No worries, I was having a bit of a dig and it seems pretty pricey to get something "decent" unfortuantely. Definitely an interesting topic though!

really excited about the robot arm ♥ Happy holidays!

Nice work. Would be great to see some more content demystifying how to set up Gazebo, ROS2 control with MoveIT2.

Yes I'm keen to explore that!

The things I'd love to see are high level "brains" tutorials and systems engineering concepts. The only gap I see in the tutorials so far are behavior trees, state machines, and just automated "decision making" in general. Maybe fleet management? We now have a robot that can move around according to 2d pose vectors, and I'd love to see your thoughts on getting it to schedule tasks and do real work. Thanks!

great videos! really informative.. i'd love to see the Tormach on a moving platform, add planning combines poses with both the robotic arm and the moving robot platform.
@ArticulatedRobotics2 жыл бұрын
Yeah my hope is to eventually do an upgraded version of the mobile robot on a larger platform, big enough to hold the Tormach :)

Very good series so far. I'm just new to ROS and have enjoyed following along. I'd love to see if ROS2 can be used to make a telescope mount that can track satellites. I.e it takes in an RA and DEC and moves an azimuth and elevation drive. I'd love to attempt it using a raspberry pi and an stm32 microcontroller that I already have to hand.

That sounds like a great project! I have similarly thought about that (a colleague is into that sort of thing) but I'm not sure I'll ever get around to it... If you do it, you should make a video showing it off! (And share it to discourse.articulatedrobotics.xyz/c/robotics-projects/7)

I wish you and your family a peaceful time. for next year it would be nice if you could show a short series how to control a servo with the joystick or button.

I just discovered your channel and I found various videos related to ROS. I am a beginner, can you tell me in what sequence should I follow your videos? Thanks!

thought the snow at the end was some point cloud simulation at the end of the video from the seeking preview. Also bought the "Raspberry Pi Smart Robotic Arm Mecanum Wheel Chassis" from lewan soul. I hope i won't have any issues controlling this with ROS2.

Haha sorry to disappoint! And nice - I hope you get it to run OK!

Hey , can you post video series of simulation of 6dof robotic arm using ROS (Gazebo and Rviz) also using a Moveit …and lastly integrating it with Raspberry pi and physical 6dof arm……
@vikaspoddar0012 жыл бұрын
I want you to make tutorial series on "how to integrate Pytorch model with ROS2?" and Merry Christmas 🎄🎊 Happy New year 🥳🥳

Man, I got really really excited hearing such a reputable company was putting out a robot. But after seeing it kinda quivering while trying to get to position at 4:05, that kinda damps the hype. Recently, I've found that there are actually a lot of Cheap Chinese robots for a fraction of the cost (around 4k to 6k price point) that are like a bit worse versions of the big 3. Still vey capable. But with kinda ghetto software and probably terrible support. I've been lustfully looking at the Alibaba listings. The only things I'm worried about are whether I'll actually get the product, and whether they will have an API or some sort of way that I can actually drive it with my own software.

I agree with others here, humble is a good start with control or moveit since you are getting an arm. How about making an arm from scratch?
