I love the Idea of a lightweight straight 90 inch blade. My 7.5 Blizzard LT probably weighs close to 600lbs with frame and when I bought it 10 years ago that seemed light compared to the previous plows that I have had. Still it's a weighty beast compared to the new crop of lighter 1/2 ton suitable plows. Chevy K1500 with Timbrens.

I run a f150 with a 7'6"meyer. I put wings on it and it is a world of diffference. better thatn a V plow. I also run a steel pipe for cutting edge when I push on gravel drives. Gauranteed not to push any gravel at all. HMU if you want one, or instructions how to make one. Easy to doIf interestede I

I agree with the guys saying to wait. There's no reason to push growth if you and your income aren't ready for it. You could even market for more accounts and handle those through subcontractors for now, building the income so that a 2nd truck becomes a necessity versus a hunch. I think you have all the data you need now for this decision.

Started our business with a 04 ram 1500 hemi It hauled trailers 6 months a year and plowing 6 months of the year in Canada 🇨🇦 It was great for a few years could plow any amount of snow Our new truck like you say was $90,000 with a plow It's nuts to spend that but it does bring in revenue so you need it

Douglas - your right 90K for a new truck is crazy.....shop for a used 2500 one that has not been plowed with and is clean underneath...even if it has 100K on it...Lot of older guys have them for pulling their campers and have not plowed with them. you can get one from high twenties to low 30k and then spend the 10k on a V-plow....will be better on drives and parking lots. Your 1500 mostly paid off use it for summer and back up....Every snow plower needs a back up plow....you're going to have to put a few thousand into your plow truck every year or so anyways and you don't need your plow truck to be putting on lots of miles anyways, if you can get a good body truck thats not caked in rust underneath....most engines will give you another 100k and better. Depending on how spread out your jobs are you're not going to put that many miles on it. If you're the one driving it, you won't be beating on it. Takes a lot of work for one guy to pay for a 90k truck.. You can get a nice looking used truck, it wont be the latest but 5 years old for plowing and it is still a 2500. You will be able to tow your loader when you need and wont be paying through the nose to impress anyone...and enjoying the fact that you have two trucks with plows incase you do have a break down in winter. Write off your used truck...pay it off in a couple of years...

I plow with a 2019 1500 5.3 Trailboss w a fisher 7.6 sd and its more then enough. The HTS and Fishers 1/2 ton offerings ( same mother co. Duglas Dynamics. The own Snow Ex too.) Anyway the non chain lift half ton plows are made w smaller, slower hydraulics.

It’s not a bad setup. Just takes longer than it should on some of the bigger lots. Hoping the wings will help out! Can’t wait to put them on.

Howmuch clearance do you uow from the bottom of the mounts to the ground did you ever have a issues with them hiting the ground , and do you havd and type of lift or level kit

Smart decision to not upgrade. Save you money and security even though those new trucks and plows are awesome .

They are awesome! I’m really hoping those wings save a bunch of time on my commercial lots. It ultimately makes the plow bigger without adding much weight.
