It's intentional. They will do every little thing they can to damage his ability to do business until he sells them the land for cheap. Successful race tracks are expensive, failing ones are dirt cheap. For more reference, look at every drag strip that has closed because of encroachment for the last 50 years. Developers specifically target race tracks. It's super easy to undermine their profitability and then scoop up the land hella cheap when the track owner gets desperate and gives in. If you catch somebody involved in these things in a moment of candor, they'll explain this exactly as I've described. It's a whole chapter in their playbook.

Thank you Cleet and James for keeping us posted on what's going on down there. My sister and brother in law live withing 45 mins or so of the drag strip, the Freedom Factory, Shop and all down there. I'd say it's time to consider filing some lawsuits against those developers for not properly accounting for the drainage issues they created with their giant berms. I mean it's Florida, it's not like this level of rainfall wasn't to be expected. I'm quite serious when I say it's time for lawsuits, the tracks shouldn't be forced to foot the bill for others mistakes. You've experienced many storms like this, even worse in your area, and these facilities have never sustained damage like this from this type of storm until now. I hate to think ill of anyone but I have to wonder did they not see this coming and did what they did anyway? We know some of them really don't want the tracks to continue to operate and it's all about money to them. Dang. We’ve gotten 13 inches of rain over here on the St. John’s river. No flooding yet waiting for the storm surge to take effect. River is 3 ft lower than last night. Stay safe and recover quickly over there on the west coast Cleet!

The damn development around the FF and the Drag Strip. I feel bad about the Sports Park. I hope the damage is not too bad. They are going to have to install drainage. Garrett, bring your Fire Truck over and use it to pump it out. Do you have a "Hard Sleeve" for the truck? It is used during a fire to pump water from a lake or stream to fill tankers if there are no hydrants available. Maybe a local Fire Department would let you borrow one. Give them a donation if they are volunteer. For a donation they may do it for you.

BMP has drainage for the track, just can't keep up with 15 inches of rain. Give it 12 hours and it'll be gone.

Pump it to where? The ground is completely saturated, that's why it flooded.

With a mini jet boat,Cleetus makes track history again. I live about 6 miles from the track, news report said we received anywhere from 11"-14" of rain😳 IF it is not cost prohibitive, move the FF drainage trench East about 50', then add another lane (to have 3) to the entrance, I know drivers w/ there trailered race cars who have waited in line to get in for over an hour for some of the one day races. Example race day jam up's: Street Car Takeover and Street Kings, just to name a few. 🤔

Listening to Jackstand giving Cleetus directions reminds me of the scene in CaddyShack when Bill Murray tells the Priest that "it doesn't look like the heavy stuff has hit yet" so they keep playing golf in a severe thunderstorm. That advice did not work out well for the Priest's life expectancy.
