Thank youuuu! Unsolicited recommendation: smart liner floor mats for the cab area.

P.s. have you noticed rust beginning to accumulate on your turbo body area? At the end of the ducts, near the back of the engine bay, on the left side of the engine bay?

I've changed mine for the second time recently. I have to 170 extended dually version high roof. Yours look similar actually I can't see the back tires though. Anyway, the first time no problem. Second time, a little issue that caused a lot of cleaning. When you put that oil filter back in and you get the 25 Newton meter click make sure you hear that. I thought I heard it, thought it was there and I had a leak. I believe that's the air conditioning compressor right below it. I had to use the low pressure air hoses to some of the oil out of it. Next time I do this change, I'll make sure that I only put a partial court of oil in, then started up before filling the rest up. When you come to the fuel filter, it's actually in a different location than all the previous models. It's down by the diesel tank, that was relatively easy, the electrical connector was the hardest part. I changed out the entire fuel filter housing, instead of using the filter tool and just remove and replace the filter.

I will make sure to hear the click. I had a similar issue to yours on my 2017 Sprinter. I did not get the filter cap on tight enough, and it started leaking after about 700 miles and made quite the mess. I camped for the night on a mountain at around 5deg F and the next morning on the way down the mountain the leak started. Maybe it was the cold that affected the finger tightened oil filter cap. I also learned the hard way no to do the change on a windy day. The oil has a ways to fall, and it is a thin stream of oil that is easily blown by the wind, I also had that problem when doing the 2017 Sprinter oil change. So far this change has been good with only a drop or two of spillage. Tomorrow I get my winch bumper for the 2023 Sprinter, and I already have armor for the oil pan and transmission, so in the next week I will have to do a video about installing the Backwoods Scout Sprinter winch bumper.

Your killing me Chucky. You never did get to the reset the service interval light. Did you ever figure out how to do it? Apparently on our Sprinter vans , Mercedes is constantly changing what it takes to do it

It worked for me, I got it reset. That was back in March. I have not been putting many miles on the van.

Thanks for sharing this. Can I ask what size tire you are running?
@charleskieser97406 ай бұрын
I am on 275-75-16's which I understand is the largest size you can run without having to reprogram the vans bios. There are bios reprogramming chips that simply plug into the OBD2 port if you want to run bigger tires, I think it is $500-1000 for the reprogramming modules.

Do these use a crush washer!?
@charleskieser97408 ай бұрын
I did not see a crush washer. The oil filter had a rubber washer to seal it.
@charliep51398 ай бұрын
was the rubber washer attached to the drain plug or did you have to change it out? thanks@@charleskieser9740

Are youchanging in 10,000 mile intervals?
@charleskieser97402 ай бұрын
I am currently changing is 10,000 mile intervals. Merc recommends 20,000. Do you think I need to change more often?
@jeffpyle63532 ай бұрын
I seen a video where they had the valve covers off and there was bad sludge build up. I'm gona change mine at 5000. It just seems like alot of miles on that oil.
@charleskieser97402 ай бұрын
@@jeffpyle6353 Sounds like a good plan. I got my van used with 10,000 miles and changed the oil immediately. It now has 13,500 and changing at 15,000 sounds like a good idea.
