so even though the tire is not rated to be tubeless you are having no issues running it tubeless? I just ordered one and I love that idea. Also yes, any tubeless tire is going to require more frequent checks of the pressure. Tires with tubes are pretty stable but tubeless tires I always check before each and every ride.
@charleskieser97404 ай бұрын
I do add 3psi 2x a week with the tubeless installation, but the 244 feels great both on the streets and off road. There is some peace of mind knowing that I can plug the tire if it is punctured without taking the tire off the rim.
@boblatkey71604 ай бұрын
@@charleskieser9740 super cool to hear that is working good for you. Someone else in the EUC community just warned me that that tire bead is not rated for tubeless operation and that it was my risk if I wanted to try it. Are you running sealant inside your tire now that you have gone tubeless?
@charleskieser97404 ай бұрын
@@boblatkey7160 I am not running any sealant just the 244. A side note, I helped my friend RockinEUC change from the stock knobby tire to a 244 on his Veteran Lynx. He did not have a tubeless valve stem so we just did a tube installation. We still had to break the bead on his stock Lynx tubed knobby to do the tire swap. I have done numerous Patton tire swaps and we never had to break a bead with any of those tire swaps. Something about the Lynx rim wants to set a bead.

what valve stem did you use? for the tubeless conversion?

I originally had the street tubeless tire, so I did not have to convert. The stock Leaperkim tubeless valve stem also has a metal dust cap. 😀

I just installed this today. The only issue I ran into was the driver's side nut at the forward U-Bolt was off-center. This made it a bit challenging to fit a socket into the hole and onto the nut to tighten it up. It eventually worked, but was somewhat of a pain. My forward U-Bolt is also angled, as you show at 1:09 in the video. I'm guessing it's not a big deal but I'll check it in time to make sure it hasn't slipped or loosened up enough to interfere with the flange. I have a 24 AWD. Cheers!

Can i ask you, what's the advantage of tubeless? Im with 244 but with inner tube. Can you ride tubeless with 19-26 PSI if necessary? I have similar valves on order, but I'm wondering... Some times i need to go with low pressure
@charleskieser97405 ай бұрын
I have had the 244 tubeless as low as 20psi. The advantage is less spinning mass = crisper acceleration.
@charleskieser97405 ай бұрын
Also, repairing the tire when punctured on the trail is way easier with a tubeless tire, you can just carry a lightweight plug kit, and the smallest air pump you can find. With a tube, you have to remove the tire to patch the tube.
@dnthmn1173 ай бұрын
I run the 244 tubed and it's been great, holds air well. But if I had a large compressor I probably would have gone tubeless.

I got these lights a long time ago. They eventually started falling out of the socket and I actually lost 2 that way. They don't seem to last a long time. The most annoying part was having to press 9 different buttons to turn on all of my lights (4 front + 4 rear + wheel light). It was so annoying, especially with gloves on. Even when I only did 2 front + 2 back I still had to press many buttons. Not very practical especially if you're commuting daily. I wish u could sync the lights to turn on all at once with 1 button, or be motion activated

@charleskieser97406 ай бұрын
I am on 275-75-16's which I understand is the largest size you can run without having to reprogram the vans bios. There are bios reprogramming chips that simply plug into the OBD2 port if you want to run bigger tires, I think it is $500-1000 for the reprogramming modules.

How are the lights tightened?
@charleskieser97406 ай бұрын
The lights pop into the slots that the reflectors came out of. The light mount is 2 piece, and the 2 pieces clamp down on the little tabs inside the reflector opening. I have crashed, and the lights do pop out, and did not shatter when I went down, and I was able to reinstall them.

Strategically, that would be a death trap if you were found holed up down there with no way out, just like they died in the final scene. Plus, how did you get horses down there and where would you graze them, corral them? If a posses located them up on top you'd have even less chance of escape.

Could someone explain the purpose of the stand with an EUC that have a kickstand?! Thanks
@charleskieser97407 ай бұрын
The stand makes the EUC take less floorspace than if it were on its kickstand. The charging port on the Lynx is also on the back side, and hard to access when on the kickstand, but quite easy and convienent to access on the EUC Army stand.

I'm lowering my pedals because after 600 miles I got a speed wobble that almost wiped me out. I guess it was my fault but I still don't know how I caused it. My tire pressure was maybe a little bit high. I have been reading that other people have had Speed wobble crashes on their lynx. Mine came on strong and fast and was super violent. Check out Chooch's recent video where he crashed on the Lynx from a speed wobble. It was almost identical to what happened to me. I also removed that kickstand because I think it's dangerous in a crash, and the wheel looks so much better with it removed. I almost crashed going down a steep bankment at low speed as the kickstand caught on the back. I really like what you did yours! It looks great. Have fun!
