Tyson...got me all excited when I was watching your 23 crosstrek limited videos while I was waiting for mine to come in. Then I get mine...no heated steering wheel...no dual zone climate. Must be Canadian models only...not in the US. Also...handles are paint matched. Great videos...keep up the good work!

@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist I just finished breaking in the engine, and I am blown away with my driving results. In Montreal and Gatineau I literally do not use gas. Through regen breaking and 80% charge I can cover all traffic and daily driving on battery power. It is fantastic! On the highway, after break-in, I am getting between 5.5L/100km to 6.7L/100km if I choose to enable charge mode to get battery power by the time I reach my target city. I have a weekly 400km round-trip between Montréal and Gatineau. The Atkinson's cycle tuned boxer is really efficient. My old 2021 Crosstrek Outdoor, that I traded for my PHEV, was getting great mileage for gas only. However, my current PHEV is just fantastic for spewing out less carbon monoxide and getting far greater efficiency on the highway at 70 mph. Also, I have seen a lot of comments talking about sluggishness at highway speeds and fear of overtaking other vehicles. I have had no issues with this. Even taking off from the shoulder into 417 highway traffic is easy, especially with the initial electric motor torque! One more addition. I have a bike rack and two kayak racks always installed, which will add some wind resistance, and I am still getting the numbers above with an AWD vehicle. I am definitely impressed with this vehicle 😀

32% more horsepower, 100% less "total dog" - It's such a difference from the other engine I cannot recommend it enough. It is not fast in any way, but at least you can merge on the freeway, or pass slow-moving cars uphill! 🙂

Thanks so much Tyson! You saved me from a ton of time searching through the User Manual. Much appreciated! One thing I found confusing at first. We just bought our 2023 CrossTrek Limited Edition from Bob Baker Subaru in San Diego. We most definitely have the Limited Edition with the 2.5 L engine (the limited, not the sport) but we don't have a few of the creature comforts (Harmon Kardon sound system, heated steering wheel, a few others). We bought "Option Package 32" ($1000) which has primarily the moon roof plus a few other features. We would have needed to choose "Option Package 33" ($2000+) to get the very top level of features (Harmon Kardon, heated steering wheel, etc.) I'm not sure how it is all packaged where you are but when you stated that things like Harmon Kardon "come with the Limited Edition" I was confused and had to check our sticker and the online options. Besides that, perfect presentation! Thanks again.

Thanks for the comment! I hope that you're enjoying your 2023 Crosstrek! In Canada there are no option packages, our trim levels come one way and anything you want to change would be an accessory. We also cannot order accessories on vehicles to be installed at factory, they're all installed at the dealership.

@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist yes thanks. I'm to receive the one you showed that i must have watched over a dozen times lol. It's the 2023 crosstrek sport 2.0L in khaki gray. BUT... I must tell you Tyson. I'm adding tinted rear lights. The hood stripe from the outback wilderness. A side 5 inch stripe at the bottom sides. Rear bumper guard. Rain guards for the windows. Got the K&N replacement air filter. Blue climate temp. control outer knob covers. (don't like the red lights). Also got the ice blue L.E.D. dome and map int. lights. Carbon fibre door handle scratch protector pads. Blue..under the dash...led light strips. And a few little extra touches. Considering a 10yr. Ceramic coat. I LOVE this car. Thanks to your video it really helped me to know exactly what to expect. Sorry about the long read... I'm over ancious about it. Presently I'm driving a 2021 Kia Seltos. Liked it until it had anengine replacement in October with 28,455kms. Then after 300kms. with the new engine we were stranded on the highway to Kingston from Ottawa because ALL the coolent spilled out. Took 2hrs. For towing. .. Get this. Kia roadside drove us to the nearest dealership in Smith Falls that was CLOSED!!. drove back to Ottawa on a wing and prayer in a big snow storm. Got fixed a week later and they said it SHOULD be good now. Sorry Tyson. KIA SUCKS!!. thanks for reading this and getting back to me. Can't wait to jointhe Subaru family. ✌

@@gsauve9976 That's a nice vehicle you have coming! The Sport is a nice package, I like the LED headlights and the power driver seat. It sounds like you have it all planned out! The only thing that I wouldn't be 100% on board with is the K&N air filter - I've heard mixed reviews about them on multiple different vehicles. I like ceramic coatings, but I ended up going with Paint Protection Film on the front of my Crosstrek when I had it. Hi Tyson, I just purchased a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited. I watched your very informative video and loved it. However, my So say Limited vehicle does not have chrome door handles, or a Bumper step pad, nor heated steering wheel nor the Mode button and sync button located below the A/c dials. Would you say this is or is NOT a tru Limited Crosstrek vehicle? I was told it had a full size spare tire and that isn’t true. It contains an emergency temp Tire. I would appreciate your response.
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, Cindy! The models that I cover in my videos are Canadian Spec models that have some differences vs the US Spec models. The bumper step pad is an add on that a customer requested. I've been told that the US Crosstreks don't have a heated wheel, regardless of trim level and that Chrome handles are an optional addition on some of them. No Crosstrek comes with a full-sized spare tire, just the "full-size donut" tire. I couldn't tell you about dual zone climate control or the driving mode selection.

Hi. Tyson. This is for people who didn't notice the differences with the Canadian models vs. The United States models. Trim levels are different with the Crosstrek Sport. The American Sport trim looks like the outdoor with dark gray sport rims and the Canadian trim has black machined outline rims. Also the American sport teim model has thay extra piece of cladding on the back door like the Canadian Outdoor model. I thought when receiving the Sport here in Canada it would be like the American one. Someone also commented about having the Limited from the States with NO heated steering. Tyson. You are awesome. I'm receiving the sport model soon from Canada. It makes me wonder why the American trims are different. At least Eyesite and All Wheel Drive are on both. Right?. Please share that information or if anyone who reads my post respond back and lets not be disapointed or discouraged from the different features. Both are good. This is not say which one is better. Only to be aware that the Canadian trim levels are different from the American. My opinion..... The American Sport trim looks nicer than the one here in Canada. Please let me know. What do you think and what other things are to be compared to on the Crosstrek.

@@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist I know, it's strange because it's quite cold in parts of the US so a heated steering wheel could be offered as a no cost option in the limited (or higher trim). You end up stopping somewhere between 6 and 8 inches away from the object. Anything with RAB will have the backup sensors, so it will beep/give you audible warnings before it engages the brakes. Here is a video demoing the RAB that I made a few years ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5PCgoaffcaZh5o

Very helpful video Tyson. Recently ordered a 2023 Limited from a dealership here in Ottawa but haven’t yet taken delivery. What feedback have you had from customers about using the app to start the car? We were told that proximity fobs aren’t standard, but I’m a little uncomfortable relying on my phone to start my car.
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed the video. The feedback is mixed, some people love it, some people aren't fans of it. It all comes down to personal preference. If you're uncomfortable with having to use your phone/tablet/desktop/laptop to start your Forester, I'd recommend getting the accessory Subaru Remote Starter installed. You get the digital one for free for three years, so you might as well use it. I'd personally try the digital one for a while and see how I felt about it after a few months of ownership and then make the judgement call. The big thing is that you needs data/wifi to send the signal and that the vehicle has to be in cellular service. If you often go out of service to remote camping/cabins/live off grid, then the physical accessory might be the way to go.

Hi can please elaborate why we should not use lane assist @7:15
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Жыл бұрын
I don't like using the lane centering around town because the flow of traffic doesn't always follow the lines on the road. In the city where I live we only have visible lines for 4 or 5 months a year with the winter conditions and poor road maintenance that our roads get. The other reason is that the majority of our roads in the city limits are rated for 50km/hr, and the lane centering is supposed to work above 60km/hr. If you do end up getting above 60km/hr and you forget that you have the lane centering on it can be a rude awakening when the wheel "jerks" you around to correct you in your lane - I've had several older customers come back to me concerned because the vehicle "feels like it's fighting them". I do also recommend not using the lane centering or lane sway assist in the winter months where the Eyesight cameras can't necessarily distinguish road lines easily.

@Pro Vax I wouldn't say that they're scary at all. They're not useless in the slightest, just for use in certain situations, which isn't much different than every other piece of tech out there. Thanks for your super detailed and informative video. I've been test driving the Crosstrek. I've noticed the limited trim seems to have a quieter ride than the other trim levels. Please forgive my rant to the manufacturer, I hope they see it. A couple of things that slow down my momentum to buy the car: 1) Subaru, it was going to kill you to offer that nice red and black check fabric with nice red stitching on dash and seats (only available in desert khaki model) in the red color car? 2) Subaru, it was going to kill you to offer the Crosstrek in Sapphire Blue Pearl (only offered in Forester Sport, and Impreza hatch.)? Horizon Blue Pearl, basically baby blue is sooo boring. And your color options: that ugly Grey khaki, basically confederate blue, gross. And what's up with that horrible bilious yellow? Yuck! Why did you drop the beautiful Orange color? Orange is very chic. At least the ubiquitous orange stitching that you foist on buyers in every model complemented the orange body color. And the orange and grey leather in the limited, leave it monochrome, or have it match the body color, or offer the car in Orange so the odd orange and grey provides visual balance with the exterior. It is a very high sticker price to have to suck up a color combination that is not completely delightful when you're forking over that cash every month. Come on, Subaru. Hire more women designers. This purchase is my 30K Birkin bag. Help me to want to buy your car. BTW, the sneak peeks I've seen of the 2024 design with that hideous, bulky parentheses cladding that frames the fog lights, Gross! Sorry Tyson, you're great, the cars are good machines, but for that price the manufacturer should have more awareness of what makes buyers happy.

Is the Harmon Kardon system really worth it ?
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Жыл бұрын
It depends if you like a premium audio system or not. If that's the only reason for you upgrading to the Limited, it might not be worth it, but if you see the extra value in the other options that you get with the Limited it might be worth it. I personally like the upgraded audio system, but the standard system in the Touring, Sport and Outdoor is not bad by any means.

Hi Tyson, great video, thanks for putting it together. One question - are the seats real leather or faux leather?
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist
@TysonTheSubaruSpecialist Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! It's a mix of real and synthetic, so I guess that makes it more of a faux leather.
