RMZ has a finicky chassis that makes it hard to hold on to at the end of the day; on a rough track it makes you slow down significantly. I'm no specialist, but I've had my suspension done, and the bike was still way too harsh for me to want to push it. It's. only good on a prepped track.

The bike is more than capable. Plus a lot of people don't know it uses SSS forks but they just have an astronomical spring rate in them. A good revalve and you have the same forks as a YZ. A piston, ported head, and full exhaust go a long way for these bikes too. I love my RMZ personally as it does everything i need it to do.
@ThunderStruckMTB2 жыл бұрын
Back in the late '70s early '80's, it was Kawasaki that was the one you hardly saw at the track. Yellow and red dominated. RMs, YZs and CRs were 22 of the 25 rider gate, with maybe a Maico or KX thrown in depending on the class. KTMs and Huskys were something that we heard about in MA or cycle news, but rarely did we see one at Indian Dunes..... When the O Show showed up on his Mugen, oh baby, that was a great Sunday. This bike sounds perfect for the weekend rider, especially if better durability comes with the less HP.

Kick starter isn’t a drawback. Wish the rest of the models would bring them back. Yeah.. but the KTM needs 3k in suspension to not suck lmao. It’s hard to take MXA videos serious when the Suzuki has better everything than a KTM except horsepower figures and brakes (subjective), yet you talk about the bike like the dumb step child of moto😑
@warlordgonagy1432 жыл бұрын
I mean ok, but the Suzuki absolutely doesn't have better everything. It's less powerful, heavier, kickstarted, cable clutch, worse brakes etc. Also, to get good suspension out of this you need springs which you don't need for the KTM because of those air forks that "suck". There's literally nothing that the Suzuki has that's better than the KTM except looks and price. By the time you get a Suzuki to the performance of a stock KTM, you've spent WAY more than said stock KTM.
@mozer302 жыл бұрын
@@warlordgonagy143 that’s the thing though, on the Suzuki you only need springs which are relatively cheap, and use stock valving. The ktm (wp) air forks are way too harsh regardless of if the pressure/sag is set correct, which is why the spring conversion kits are so popular. It’s common knowledge that you need to spend a shit load of cash to get them to perform like KYB or Showa.
@yamahakid450f2 жыл бұрын
I ride A and with different shim stacks, valving, and the correct BAR setting the 'xact' forks work well for me, it's better than spring in the sand... The Xact forks don't hold me back and the faster you go, the better It is and doesn't feel as harsh in the intial part of the stroke

@@warlordgonagy143 power is subjective, it’s more about placement than raw numbers. Heavier, sure. Not too much though. Every other bike is. Kickstarter? Who cares. Worse brakes? Subjective again. I swapped a nissin master onto my GG because brembo is trash, plus I had to put an oversized rotor kit on it too. There’s another $200. I wish I had a cable clutch. They’re equally as durable and the build quality is just as good. Finally, “fast” is rider dependent. Your right wrist determines that. There are dudes with pipes making nationals on these bikes. By the time you get a ktm to be as rideable as a stock Suzuki, you’ve spent 2.5x the cost of one. Ask me how I know…
