The 2023 Suzuki Swift Sport enters the Malaysian market as a breath of fresh air. Surely that is the case considering that there’s now a void to be filled since the departure of other “pocket rockets” such as the Ford Fiesta ST and Peugeot 208 GTi.
With enough grunt from its turbocharged 1.4 litre engine and a sub-1,000 kg weight count, the only thing that’s stopping it from achieving full “warm hatch” royalty status is the absence of a manual transmission.

An Australian channel called Pdrive TV were able to do a 0-100km/h time of 7 seconds with this gen Swift Sport also with the automatic transmission, maybe that's why you feel it's faster than 7.6 seconds. It can easily blow the doors off another one of Malaysia's “supercar”, the Honda Civic lol.

If Suzuki willing to bring in this 1.4 liter turbo, why not to bring in example Suzuki XL7, Suzuki Ignis.I know this video is about swift, but for that price range only certain buyer that have more income can buy it. Normally treat as weekend car.

I’m from Singapore and I agree with you… Unfortunately we only get the manual version in SG and no doubt the manual is fun but convenience-wise it’s too troublesome for most ppl I guess. Would definitely go for the Swift Sport if they sell the auto version here haha
