Day 1: My friend Inger and I walked The South West Coast Path in England from Falmouth to Charlestown during 5 days in June 2023 starting Thursday the 15th via ferries Falmouth - St. Mawes - Place. We had spent the night at the pleasant Lerryn hotel in Falmouth. The first leg was from Place to Portscatho. We had good and pleasant weather, and the path was nice and quite easy. We got a bit nervous when we saw that numerous bullocks almost obstructed the path at one place, and we saw no possibility to go around them. But they were very peaceful and only interested in grazing. Lovely walk with great views and some good conversations with other walkers along the way. 11,24 km and 237 m of total ascent. We spent the night at the pleasant Plume of Feathers in Portscatho, which was right next to the trail.

Wow, you certainly chose the right time of 2023 to do that part of the SWCP! Lovely to watch, may have to take a look again when we plan to do that particular stretch! Many thanks, Simon and Elaine

@unowhotravelchannel Thank you for watching and for your kind answer. As you probably see, I have given a short description of the walk below the video. We chose June in 2023 a bit by random, but we had earlier walked 3 times in July and one in August so we were curious about June. I must say July 2022 was just as warm and humid 🙂 Watch the video as many times as you like 🤩 Best wishes, Torunn.

@elinaranes4357 Hei Elina! Tusen takk skal du ha for at du ser, og for den hyggelige kommentaren! Jeg holder på med resten, og de kommer ut etter hvert. Det blir 5 totalt fra 2023. Tar litt tid på en treg laptop 🙂

Hi Torunn. I really enjoyed this. I think your videos are getting better. It all looks a bit different to when I did this bit with my dad. It was our first year back on the path together since my childhood and all around the Lizard things went to plan. most days there had been a little rain but never too much. on this day I'd parked my motorhome at the site just before Portscatho (Treloan) and we'd walked the road back to St Anthony's by the ferry point. That all went fine but as soon as we got on the coast path the rain began to fall. We came across a sign telling us about a cafe and decided to stop for an early lunch in the hope that the rain would pass. it didn't and when we returned to the path we discovered that none of our so called waterproofs were actually waterproof. nor were our boots. We had planned to walk into Portscatho and have dinner before walking back to the van so may well have ended up in the same pub you visited. under the circumstances though we just went straight back to the van. Luckily i had food in the cupboard and beer in the fridge. We spent the evening playing cards.

@JoeCoastal Hi Joe! Thank you for watching and the lovely comment! 😊 And for saying I am improving my videomaking. I am now slightly more strict in the edit and I remove some unwanted noise when it is possible. There is also more subtitling for English speakers. This walk was really enjoyable. And quite easy walking. We have had so much lovely weather along the SWCP all the 5 summers we have walked. Less than 5 rainy days in total. Even if the waterproofs actually are waterproof, one gets sweaty and wet anyway. I understand your decision about just heading to the van. I guess we were quite lucky choosing June in 2023, as I have understood that July and August 2023 were very wet. Thank you for your story. The Plume of Feathers was really lovely, and with a great pub with very nice food! Try it next time you are in that area 🙂
