Gene mixing was never an advertised feature for the UNI. Your tama outcome is based on care and care only. Gene mixing was exclusive to the north American Tamagotchi ON or the Japanese Tamagotchi Meets. Personally I feel it's a perfect fit for tamagotchi I really hope they bring it back.

I personally really like the uni. With it being updatable they’ll be able to add endless amounts of features and new characters

Go read the wiki for the Tamagotchi Uni. It has all the information about how to get all the characters, how fast they use up food etc. Also what interactions happen on what days or times (nap is at 1pm you can still use it but it returns to cute nap after) and similar things. And today for example is day 1 of the 3rd Tamagotchi event in the Tamaverse. Events are 7 days long and fun.

By far my favorite Tamagotchi purchase... I had the Smart and it's a bit boring compared to Uni. I've probably played with Smart for a bit less than 2 months, and now I've had the Uni for more than 4 months, and still extremely interested in it. The DLCs are cheaper, there's a lot more to do, and we usually have events every month.

it seems super cool but it's so tacky 80s neon and for me a big part of the fun of a gotchi is just looking at the shell so it's a no from me. maybe they will release more shells

a lot of people customize using different cute faceplates and things, but shouldn't have to do that anyhow... hopefully they come out with more. the only colour shell i like is the amazon exclusive one. the blue and pink isn't so obnoxious lol

Nice video! I love this Tamagotchi but the Connection era will always be my favorite Tamagotchi era and my favorite modern Tama seems to only be the Mix/ON/Some release. That’s my favorite newer line of Tamagotchi. And the 2022 Some is easier to get. I have doubles of all Somes, On’s and mixes because I’m afraid to drop or get scratches so I collect one in box. I loved the gene mixing of that line of Tamagotchi and others not bringing the gene mixing back is what is making those models rare and so expensive because they could be the last to do that. I hope not though. They are my favorite Tamagtochi as it seems there is so much more to do. I however am happy with UNI and can’t wait to see what else is in store since we have updates and with that comes changes to add more or make changes. So I’m not completely knocking it. And the fact I see Mimitchi on this one and some other classics I love as well. I do however miss some of the other older characters we don’t see anymore. Hopefully updates can add new characters eventually since we don’t have smart cards or plug in media, and apps. No matter the case, it’s not a loss in my eyes. Could be better but can’t say it’s bad either. Im still satisfied. And I’m still a fan. There are so many new editions and different old editions to play, and I’m sure they will continue making different ones so no -one should ever be upset if they get let down in any kind of way because there is always a chance of a new model and things to come back eventually or change to what your liking is and if not there so many types I’m sure you can find a type of Tama made just for you :) I am currently Running a Some, UNI and Original. Soon a Digimon and a meets (which is a meets/on). Anyways. I could talk on and on about Tamagotchi lol. Thanks again for posting. 😊

I feel the same way. The Smart was my first modern coloured tama, and I'm sad at how quickly they abandoned it. On one hand, I'm glad they decided on a worldwide release for the Uni but something tells me they're beta testing for future devices. The Uni seems to be what they wanted the Smart to become.

I have to agree on the uni. The ON/Meets were great devices, but after that Bandai went in some weird directions. We had the Smart which was japan-only (it can be modded now to english), but it relied heavily on the bonus content cards while US got the Pix and it's awful touch controls. Uni seems to be a weird blend of the two. While Newer cases and a sanrio version have been leaked, I don't see those as being big upgrades that will make it into what it needs to be. It's close, but not quite there for me. Maybe the next generation in a few years will get things right.

8:22 I’d argue that this can be seen as a good thing considering they stopped supporting the ON’s app entirely & it would’ve died if not for the community. Maybe with everything in the Tamagotchi Bandai will support it for longer! 9:30 Thankfully there’s been a huge amount of modding happening! (Personally I like the default though. My favourite colour is purple) My big con is how soft the screen is. Many people (including myself) have scratched their screen with a microfibre cloth meant for electronic devices. I haven’t seen another Tamagotchi with such a delicate screen. 🥲
