I couldn't agree more! I was auto-assessed and only realised when the money was in my account. My biggest fear is that next year I might be hit with a big tax bill because SARS might have made mistakes. I just want to ask if I can still file for this tax season even after being assessed?

Hi Nozipho. Yes, you may still submit even after being auto assessed. You have up until 23 October to submit the correct return.

i failed to submit my returns and they put me on Audit and the owing me money and i upload my IRP5 so i dont know what next

Yes it does. Auto Assessments means Sars Has submitted on your behalf.

Hey sisi, I hope you good. I’ve done my auto assessment and turned out that I owe SARS R90. I don’t know what could have happened but I am due for a refund (commission earner)and it now doesn’t show. Can I correct my assessment and re-submit?

Auto assessment is done by SARS not the taxpayer. If you submitted yourself, you may do a correction.
