Was on the VW ID.4 waiting list for 8 months. Delays and price increases pushed me to the RWD base model 3. Took delivery on Feb.11 in NJ. No sales tax, $4000 rebate, $7500 IRS credit. Car has been wonderful! Only regret was not opting for the white interior. On day of delivery, 36 model 3 and Y's were picked up. Nearly all were white base models. I too rented a model 3 before ordering and that was the convincer.

I have the tesla wall charger and the standard M3 and similar to you I've had it for a month now. I already took my vehicle in for service the first week I got and they didn't even fix any of my complaints. Not sure if I should bring it back or try a different service center.
@marshallfelter2414 Жыл бұрын
The rattling noise is likely the vehicle panels/chassis loosening up from the potholes and other structural highway issues we drive on every single day, This is especially true in California, and the North east….the roads just ruin any car.

@JSLReview Жыл бұрын
Yeah i heard it was worse before, really wasn’t that bad for me so you might be right.

I believe they previously had stiffer suspensions because initially Tesla cars were more of a sporty/speedster car brand. As Tesla became more and more mainstream and bought/driven by regular people, sporty suspension didn't make sense. Most regular drivers just want comfort suspension/driving, so as it happens, Tesla switched to a softer suspension system.

man i dont think anybody can really compete with tesla now. elon really knows what he's doing and he has the first mover and volume advantages. Wouldn't wanna be the competition. The model 3 is like 40k with 7500 credit 32,500. Thats still a tad pricey in my book, but overall in 2023 terms it's not. Plus you do save about 100 a month on gas by my calculations (at least I would, YMMV), thats not nothing. If you have the Model 3 ten years you'd save 12,000. It's not justification for buying the car IMO and it takes a long time to pay off, but it's a nice bonus. However where I live in Texas, they charge you 400 extra upfront and 200 annually extra to register an EV. So you give some of that back. In ten years you'd give 2200 (400+200X9=1800) back on the fees, if they stay the same. So you'd still save $9800. Probably my BIGGEST issue is, I currently have a home with a garage. As you note the perfect charging setup. However I am strongly considering moving back to an apt sometime in the next few years. A tesla would then be a big negative I would think, but I'll have to research more.

@BengalTiger47 Жыл бұрын
@@KushDaily69 yes. Starting in 2024 the tax credit can be applied at point of sale. However, there will probably be stricter battery sourcing requirements which will either decrease the credit amount, or make a lot of cars ineligible. This is a great time to take advantage of the full $7500.

@@BengalTiger47 awesome. Yeah so I received delivery of my car on march 3rd, so I should be fully eligible for the 7500 come around tax season when I file next year to redeem the $7500 tax credit. There is no issue charging to 100% every day. It does slightly accelerate degradation, but since LFP chemistry is good for 3,500 equivalent full cycles to reach 90% of the initial capacity, which means the battery pack is good for around a million miles. The rest of the car will rot away before your battery degradation is an issue, so just plug it in, and let it charge to full.

This is correct. I keep telling people this - the battery will OUTLAST THE CAR.

I just took delivery of my Model 3 RWD and I charge it up to 100% about once or twice a week. The reason for this is because we are currently experiencing extreme weather and I am preparing for massive power outages. Once summer comes around I will likely just charge to 90% weekly and 100% monthly to recalibrate the range. (I work from home) While yes charging to 100% will not hurt iron based batteries as much as NCA batteries it’s still not the healthiest thing to do to your battery. The only reason Tesla recommends charging to 100% regularly is because LFP batteries are twice as durable as NCA batteries and they need to be recalibrated to give you the most accurate range estimate. The last thing Tesla wants is a bunch of LFP owners stating “I had 20% and all of a sudden it dropped to 5%!” This is a true possibility if you have not recalibrated your LFP battery for few months.

I’m waiting for my model 3 rwd hopefully this week! The fact that people are polarized by brands these days annoys the crap out of me. Just because I buy an iPhone doesn’t mean I support Apples decisions in what they support. The same with every freakin thing. I don’t know why people cannot be mature enough to know these big companies regardless of who could give a crap and you don’t have to agree with an employee at a company to know they have a good product. Also Nvidia talking about you! None the less, great integration with the electrical infrastructure. Tesla is just so far ahead with the experience that until you sit in and drive one you will never understand how far in the future they are.

Hey! I’m literally just clicks away from buying one and I gotta ask, is the $7,500 actually taken off from overall price? On the Tesla site it shows two monthly payments. One after “potential savings” then a separate higher price without those savings.
@JSLReview Жыл бұрын
It’s a tax credit that you don’t get issued until you file your 2023 taxes so it’s not taken off the MSRP. There’s a lot of nuance to the tax credit I advise talking with an accountant prior to purchase
@liam1902 Жыл бұрын
The "potential savings" is just Tesla estimating how much you will save with the car minus off the vehicle's purchase price. You need to click "purchase price" which shows you the base price of the vehicle and then any additional price changes if you make changes. Additionally, a $1390 destination fee, several hundred dollars for title/registration fees, and sales tax (if your state does that for EVs) will be tackled onto your purchase price so that total will be your "amount due". Remember that you only put down $250 for the order fee and then when the car is finally available for you to take delivery, then that is when you pay the "amount due" (if you're financing, then you gotta fill out that info in the Tesla app). State rebate could be subtracted from your "amount due" total but it depends on how your state does it. The federal tax credit is NOT subtracted from the amount you need to pay. You should read the IRS guidelines because they may change things by March 31st which will affect you (you need to take DELIVERY of the Tesla before whatever date they put for you to qualify for the federal tax credit along with all the other requirements such as income). The federal tax rebate amount is obtained after you file taxes for year 2023 in 2024 but again read how it works and talk to an accountant/tax professional because it's not guaranteed you get the full $7500.

Hi! Great video. I have the exact same car/trim and I have been driving it for 2 days! Does your range reduce at the same rate as your odometer increases for each trip? I have noticed that on the highway at constant speed or around 67mph, my range reduces much faster than the mileage I cover. Almost 15 to 20% faster. That’s got me a little worried. I’m not sure if you cycled the SOC before the car “reset” or recalibrated. Comments?
@JSLReview Жыл бұрын
Hey there, congrats on the car! I’m in Chicago so the cold weather is impacting my range. If it’s cold and you use the climate control, I heard it’s normal for range to drop significantly. Not worried about it for now, will monitor to see if it normalizes once the weather changes.

I actually noticed the same when watching the video. Honestly, if it's not causing any functionality issues or concerns, then it's not really a problem aside from just cosmetic. I learned/realized that with Tesla, you're dropping a lot of $$$ but forced to accept a car with flaws to just become a Tesla owner. Obviously with other automobile/EV companies, you most probably won't expect the build quality issues that Tesla constantly faces.

@JSLReview Жыл бұрын
You get blind spot camera, lane keep assist, and memory seats, all standard features.
@sleepy_ipl Жыл бұрын
If by "lane change assist," you mean the car automatically changes lanes to the left or right while driving on autopilot, you will need the "Enhanced Autopilot" package, which is +$6,000. The blind spot feature on Teslas is not like other vehicles. There is no orange light or indicators on the side mirrors to notify you of a car in your blind spot while driving. Instead, when you activate your turn signal a live camera feed will display on the screen showing you your blind spot in real time. The car has cameras mounted on both front fenders that face towards the rear blind spot of the car and displays these cameras when you turn on your turn signal.
