After ownership of Teslas for four years now i agree with most of your comments. They really are easy cars to live with day to day. Like you we go one huge European road trips every summer and its an amazing car for this. On another note we picked up our new MYLR March this year and can confirm the ride is much better than our 2021 M3LR it replaced. Must be the new comfort suspension. Very pleased with the car. Thanks for the channel 👍🏻

I've had my model 3 long range for 18 months, did the acceleration boost after just 6 months and it's so much quicker yet has not affected the range at all (easily 300 miles driven sensibly). Also traction in the wet is really impressive. I have since added Eibach lowering springs and that's transformed the handling without detriment to the ride comfort. Also, zero reliability issues, no issues whatsoever. I'm on Octopus Intelligent which is now back down to 7.5p per kwh, so a full 'tank' works out about a fiver, so really cheap to recharge still. Would like subscription for enhanced auto pilot in UK, can't see it yet?

Love my 2022 M3LR/FSD. FSD continues to progress and is wonderful. Like you, I can not imagine getting anything but a Tesla from now on.
@mikebikekite15 ай бұрын
Interesting points. It's a shame that the "auto pilot" couldn't react to the car impacting from behind and move forward to give them a little more space to brake and perhaps lessen the impact to you. It could also flash the brake lights if it thinks people are approaching too fast.

Great vlog. I have just purchased my first ever Tesla after being seduced by just one Test Drive. I’ve gone for a Model Y AWD Long Range. It’s a used 72 Reg with just 5000 miles on the clock. It’s white with 20 inch wheels with Black Covers. Internally it’s white also. I pick up this Friday and can’t wait to drive it. Your vlog was extremely helpful and actually made me even more excited. Thanks mate 👍

Like many, I'm in the process of considering a Model 3 purchase. I liked the special offer on the Model Y, as I write this currently AP£ 1.8%! However, decided against as just too big for a single person. Liked the presentation from the perspective of a long term owner and just loved your style, and easy manner. Hoping to buy very shortly after yet another test drive 👍!

Superb review mate! I've had a used Nissan Leaf for 2 years now (30Kw/Hr ... sort of a Mk1.5), so I'm totally sold on the concept. We have a lot of Solar Panel which take care of most charging (Since we moved to South West France). It's basically free motoring, or at least too cheap for me to keep counting. What it doesn't have is the range or the Charging infrastructure to make long journeys worry-free (although we bought it as a "Shopping Car" and it's absolutely perfect for that. I'm not sure there's a better car for that). You've basically confirmed what I was thinking, that a used Model 3 will be my next car. I think in one more year, maybe Spring 2025, I'll try and bag a 2022 Model 3. I really do want an indicator stalk. They should be going for around 25K and I see it as a 10 year investment, because, like you, 250 miles (worst case here in mild SW France) is plenty between stops. I may even go for a 60kw/hr LFP Standard Range. So thanks for that, you've been a big help. (Robert Llewellyn convinced me to get a LEAF based on his 10 year review).
@SteveJulien11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! We visit Angouleme (Pilac) and Tesla network is excellent in France. I think i'd struggle without a stalk as well. If you’re Apple, you can see them with this app: apps.apple.com/gb/app/superchargers-for-tesla/id1056496235

Thanks for the review, as someone who had never been in a Tesla, let alone driven one I found it very interesting and insightful. One question I would have is: What would you expect the range to be if driving in winter, in the dark with heating and wipers on constantly? - The reason I ask is that I have a 200 mile weekly commute made up of 150 motorway miles and 50 miles on country roads. I currently do this non-stop in a diesel Mercedes E class and wonder if I’d be able to do the same in a Model 3 LR. - I’d be interested in your thoughts on this based on your experience.

Thanks. It’s a 200 mile round trip with similar roads to get to my dads and back. If I set off with a full charge: In the summer, I arrive back with 33% In the worst of it, around 20% Hope that helps.

@@SteveJulien cool. Thanks for the reply. Usually I am just picking them up from school or driving an hour tops at a time. The kWh/mile number is only the energy that goes to turning the wheels. It doesn’t includes losses in charging and losses with heating/cooling the cabin and batteries, and lesser losses for other electrical systems. It’s misleading. Compare the charge stats in the Tesla app vs what the car’s screen shows for kWh added to the battery. (That does not account for losses in charging.)

Hi Steve, great video. I am considering getting a 2nd hand Tesla but cannot decide between 2021 LR and 2022 SR RWD. I want the LR for the longer range obviously but Im told that the 2022 LFP battery is better. I heard that the 2021 battery pack degrades quickly and Tesla does not recommend charging to 100%, which I believe affects the Longe Range factor here, and then there isnt much difference in range between the two. What do you think? Thank you!

NMC battery should last 300k miles. LFP approaching a million. Not sure it really makes much of a difference.

@@SteveJulien I know I'll love it. I've had two test drives and am completely sold. However, I'm waiting until the price drops again and my money's in Tesla shares so they should buy me the car if I can hang on for 18-24 months. I've got a Skoda currently and that's my last ever ICE. I'm being patient as I'm now retired and being careful with the funds. I'm still following the Tesla news and EVs in general every day. tesla has been pushing hard the whole fsd thing because if it did work it would be AI in the real world and driving would be so much safer. but in europe I honestly do not believe it will ever work because of so many unbelievable unknowns that come up in traffic every once in a while. every car enthusiast likes a powerful machine but the cops love them even more when they have their camera on... after drivig any ev it is really hard to go back to any ICE noisy and sluggish car. I did try the model y but I am not a big person and it felt a bit too big and didn't handle as well as the m3 and the 5k more prcietag put me off.
