Yes but the problem with recon cars is the infotainment system and the radio frequency, since recon cars are used cars outside Malaysia.

Alphard (AGH 30) and Vellfire (GGH 30) came in both iterations in Japan. There are both higher and lower spec Alphards and Vellfires .. They are exactly the same and both came with 4 and 6 cylinder versions and both had Executive lounge versions with only external differences. These are seen in the grey imports and are distributed by different distributors in Japan. . Toyota Malaysia brought the higher end Alphard and lower end Vellfire in and gave the impression the Alphard was higher end over the Vellfire. That is not accurate - at least up to the last version. Grey imports have lower spec Alphards and higher spec Vellfires.

1) Mpv auto less roadtax 2) u can reg as commercial vehicle if u own a business. Here u can play around with the accounting. 3) its BIG… but not really. A hilux is actly almost 30cm longer. 4) its not meant to be driven, it meant to be sat in. The middle row is where u want to be. That being said, the driver gets to enjoy all the toys availabl from toyota.

No point. Companies here that bring in hybrids usually need to assemble those cars IN malaysia, or atleast regionally (ie thailand). If its pure CBU from japan, no incentive. Ie: a BMW 530e is rm60k CHEAPER than the 530i coz it was assembled in malaysia, on top of being a hybrid.

In malaysia, ur right, it doesnt fit. Coz we are only ever served with toyotas that are between the rm70k-rm200k. Once it goes above that, it feels oddly “atas”. Outside malaysia? Oh boy… so yeah, this an “upmarket” toyota. Along the lines of the J300 landcruiser, toyota tundra (not the SR or SR5, those are worktruck trim), sequoia, crown.. Ie: a toyota tundra trd pro - after currency exchange and estimated tax - is a rm400k pickup truck. A similarly trimmed sequoia is almost rm500k.

Nopes. Its a tax thing. Hybrids get a tax incentive IF it was assembled in malaysia or atleast regionally, like thailand. If not, no incentive, which makes it very expensive.

Personally I don't enjoy driving vellfire because it starts to get shaky or unstable once you hit 120 on the highway. Volvo xc90 at a similar price point offers much more value and stability while driving. This is definitely an unpopular opinion but I feel vellfire and alphaed are glorified Toyota hiace. Same mould. Similar engine. Lol.

Its still too early… the primary buyers of the alphard/vellfire are the japanese, and they have a 2 year waiting list. Gila😂. Outside japan, toyota is reserving “slots”. Once those slots r eaten up (which i believe they already are here in malaysia) then its gonna be a few years before the next slot opens up… or u wait for recond je la hahah. And note that toyota factories are pumping out ~150,000 of these behemoths annually, but demand is outstripping supply.

Ikr… we had it, but toyota killed it off in late 2019. The estima. That was the true “multipurpose” vehicle. Stowable 3rd row, relatively spartan interior, pretty decent handling for its size. All it needed was a better engine coz that 2.4 was shamefully gutless. Maybe the 2.5 dynamic force, the A25A, under the bonnet wudve made all the difference for that van.
