Not a big difference between the N55 to the B58. Both are pretty amazing power units. But yes, probably the B58 is better

B58 is far better than n55 in terms of reliability. But I still like my n55. Supra is great but m2 has 4 seats, if you’re single and no kids sure Supra is great.

M2 Comp had the S55. B58 is less longer term maintenance. M Engines are known to need more up keep long term. Obviously it also comes down to the owner

Until BMW comes out with an M2 with no back seat, these 2 cars aren’t in the same class. The Supra is tiny, of course it’s going to feel more nimble than the bigger M2. Had a manual F87 M2 and I agree with your assessment of the gearbox. BMW manual gearboxes are mediocre unfortunately.

I didn't say its more nimble, I said it rides better over bumps. Which is an improvement I'm sure BMW could've done, once the M2 Competition came out, but they chose not to

@@TunedIntoCars I was primarily referring to M2 vs Supra reviews in general with the “more nimble” comment. I feel like M2 gets slighted in comparison reviews. It’s constantly compared to the Supra (a 2 seater) and Cayman GTS (a $100k+ car) instead of the base Cayman priced similar to M2. But regardless, most people either love the M2 or hate it. In my opinion it’s a great deal. The Supra is also a great deal but I’m 6’ 1” and can’t deal with the low roofline. The dated BMW controls also gotta go. Props to Toyota though for taking the S58 and mating it to a car with a superior gearbox.

too bad that B58 only makes 340hp in Europe. So strange, considering the M240i goes up to 375

@@TunedIntoCars my bad meant to say B58 not S58. Wow a Supra with an S58 would be a riot though that’s for sure! Although it probably wouldn’t sound quite as good as the B58. That’s a bummer regarding B58 hp in Europe. Not sure why that is!
