Whoa, someone actually describing a little about how these competitions work. That's a rarity. I'd like to see a video goes into detail on the competition, it's strategies, the tasks etc. Thanks for this vid. Also for slope soaring.

Here's the link to the World Championship in Romania. : kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWbZh2Oof61kbpY A few of the participants appear to be using 72 mhz radios with fixed channels hence the long antennas and frequency flags. Old 72 mhz radios rarely had problems like 2.4 ghz does.

No, they don't, no mhz radio, in fact some of them are using ELRS - next level Ghz

This event is the 1.5 meter DLG (Discus Launch Glider). I had to look it up as I never saw before, also these airframes are composite and the wing and tail section also and quite expensive. Apparently balsa planes can not compete with 'advanced technology. There is a 1 meter category also. These planes are expensive, complete airplanes without servos recievers or batteries are around 700 us. They need high performance radios and servos. I think you could get in to this for much less with a balsa build and regular metal gear servos and elrs radio, but likely would't be going to world championship?!
