I went with the Xpro X17 for my 16 year old daughter. I'm 6'1" 210 and I have a blast on it. These Chinese bikes are built better than I was expecting. Would recommend for a starter bike

Thanks for your honesty, I’ve been in a battle about getting my son a Chinese brand, but I guess I can get it since the prices are reasonable

I have the X17 for 10 months with over 100 hours on it , With valve adjustments , oil changes , front and rear suspension upgrades , new carb and throttle make it run better , led head and tail light , upgraded CDI , changed the muffler and added a silencer , trickle charger for battery , Fork oil was nasty and with repeated engine oil change no more metal particles showing , oh and did some work on the horrible seat it came with , Its dialed in now and is a runner but like anything if abused it probably won't last very long

i got the same one. upgraded the carb to nibbi 22mm(dont get the 24 or 26. i tied them also i tried the pkw all bog from being too big) depending on the clearance you will need new intake as it hits the ignition key,(lucky if its welded more far back.) next new trottle kit as original one is plastic trash. packed muffler, readjust the chain tension. full light kit with horn, bigger front sproket 16t. 47mph on 3rd gear. dont want to go too fast. 1 yr in and the chain is too loose. the gas cap is leaking. did 3 carb rebuilds. these things like to clogg up in the pilot jet. the shock suspension bushing is all thorn off. before you jump it. hammer in the skit plate if not. the front tire will hit it and you will front flip. i ride it mostly in dirt gravel and sand. you need to go fast in sand so you wont burry in. also if you have it freshly new. take time to lube up the arms bolts and the axle bolts. and always clean my chain after the sand riding. one thing i hated was the clutch cable adjustment. make sure to properly adjust it. mine came undriveable and i added 4 washers next to the gear box cable to make more compression on the lever. im in $300 so far in maintenance. next will be another trottle kit and new chain and new rear suspension and oil change. thats because i ride it alot.

Thanks for the info! I ordered the Nibbi 22mm and was hoping to slap it in real quick before I put the bike in storage. Ran into the key issue and decided to wait until spring!

So, why not get the xpro x26? I've had mine for two yrs. Switched carb to the mikuni knockoff. Installed a better chain. Worn out two sets of tires. Never any problems. Starts first or 2nd kick every time.

I don't believe the 26 was available when I ordered this one. Likely the older version of the same bike. They make small tweaks every year or so, oftentimes just cosmetic

My stock carb for the same bike went to shit and i was gonna get a nibbi 22mm for it. I was also worried about the ignition getting in the way of it tho. If it does get in the way, you think I'd just need a new intake manifold for it?

You got the "X9 125" and I'm interested in "Sail 125" , because the "Sail" has a longer wheelbase and the engine is made by "Zongshen", which is a reputable Chinese engine manufacturer. Both have 17/14 inch wheels and both are imported to US by Xpro. I'm not an off-road rider, but I want something that can handle dirt/gravel roads and smooth trail riding. And my intension is to convert it to street legal so I can commute with it. I know there are already a lot of dual sports bikes out there, but they all have very tall seat-heights and Japanese bikes are too expensive for me. My inseam is only 29 inches. Can you please confirm the seat-height to your bike by measuring the top of the seat to the ground when bike is standing straight up? I'd appreciated it very much. And also is there a way that the seat can be lowered? Thanks.
@isaiahsimoneau
@isaiahsimoneau 5 ай бұрын
Hi Jeff, thanks for the comment. I unfortunately no longer have this bike so I can't confirm seat height for you. There's a few ways you can drop it a bit, you may be able to find (or make) a lowering link, you could take a small bit of foam out of the seat though there isn't much available to take, and you may be able to raise the forks to help bring the seat down. Good luck!

@@MiaBeilansky 4 strokes cycle oil, 2 stores burn it. A 4 stroke uses oil in the same way that a car does, you have to change it periodically. There is a full cap on the upper side of the motor and a drain plug at the bottom. Watch a KZbin video on it!

I have an electric start bike. I can't get it to crank. When I turn the bike on, put the choke on and hit the electric start it doesn't do anything. Do you have any advice?
@isaiahsimoneau
@isaiahsimoneau Жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel! Basics first, we've all messed those up! Make sure the kill switch is in the run position, and that the battery connections are solid. Some bikes also have safety features, so make sure the bike is in neutral, and some bikes require the clutch to be in to start. If none of that does the trick, and it's not making any noise at all, it's likely that the battery is totally dead. Beyond that, it's possible that the starter or starter solenoid are having issues. Good luck!

Yes, I'd recommend fresh oil, checking chain tension, tire pressure, and a lot of people like to add locktight to bolts and nuts and verify torque specs. On top of that, many of them will require carb tuning, oftentimes an entirely new carb which was unfortunately the case with this one.
@isaiahsimoneau

You literally had not one nice tho to say about this bike. 🚲 everything you said was total negativity. I’m getting mine in not to long I just wanted to hear someone at least say something good about it. All you did was make fun of the bike and talk negatively of every detail about the bike bro. Not trying to upset you and hope my comment is not negative also. so that when putting mine together I might need you so I might comment on here in case of any questions I had when mine arrives. Can you at least tell us it’s a good bike at least bro?

I'm sorry that my video came across that way. I'm not against Chinese bikes. A lot of people purchase them with unrealistic expectations and expect it to have Japanese quality out of the box. I am not sponsored by X-Pro or by PowerSportsMax, so the purpose of this video was to show that overall the bike is awesome, and the bang for your buck is crazy, but you will have to sacrifice on some quality issues.

I often wish I'd bought a 125 instead of the 250cc X-Motos I bought about 16/17 years ago. It's fast as hell after modding and performs great, but I realized soon after I would have preferred something smaller and more nimble for a stunt bike. *My Vitacci Pentora 250, on the other hand, is a monster!* A lot of these vehicles coming out of China need the jets changed due to sea level. My PZ30 carburetor actually does great, but obviously needs the jets changed or replaced. IMO, what you get for something brand new is still a far bigger win than buying big brand used. My quad has 70 feet of heat wrap, a 2.5" adapter to a glass pack car muffler and a lot of other mods. I should have about 70 mph top speed from 4 gears and know I would demolish a stock Yamaha Raptor-250 that it's cloned off of. *They are a labor of love and not for someone lacking technical skills.*
