Nice bike ! Looks great and user friendly. Been looking at these and the Honda Rancher 420 . I think the Yamaha is a better setup for plowing ( engaging reverse and back to drive looks easier than the reverse feature in the Honda unless you have the electric shift model ) but I do like the solid axle better for working and plowing and towing . What are your thoughts on these two ?

Yes they each have their strengths! If you wanna tow trailers I’d recommend the rancher because of the solid rear axle. You get a real transmission in a rancher as well to keep note of. Wont be disappointed with either tho. Kodiak is better for simple plowing rancher will work better and my opinion has more play/power to it

@@BrickNick931 Thanks for your feedback ! I’m leaning towards the Honda . I’m probably going to step it up to the Foreman because of its locking differential , 518cc power plant and it has a handlebar mounted headlight and 12v plug outlet as well as a little bit bigger tire and ground clearance. It just seems a little more capable than the Rancher .

@@BrickNick931 are you talking about the got shift and pushinghte button down on the brake for reverse ? If so you'll get it in reverse way faster than the yamaha lol! U can bang gears and roll forward slap it in reverse or roll backwards and shift it in forward on the fly. Yamaha you have to stop then switch. ;) Have a rancher it's rough af. On the trails but it's unstoppable

Great video, thanks for sharing. Do you know the noise level (decibels) of the 450? Thanks

Not sure on that one! Nothing crazy I’d say it’s quieter than most quads on the market

I'm with a commenter, how does it do with more than 1/2" of snow? I could plow that much snow with a bicycle. How about 10 inches of wet heavy snow?
@ec60526 ай бұрын
I've been plowing with ATV's since the '86 Fourtrax was a "beast" and never seen any reputable brand with 4wd struggle. Unless there was an ungodly amount that makes a 980K CAT sweat. My Kodiak 700 will push a foot of wet snow at a quarter throttle, with ease.

Did the fan come on often to cool it? Mine came on often. Even during the summer without a plow, it seems like it comes on a lot. Just wonder if that is normal for these.

Yes normal. Mine comes on even in winter.

Couldn't afford the diff lock?
@ParadiseAtvTrail8 ай бұрын
I believe you had to get the 2020 and up Yamaha Kodiak 450 SE to get diff lock. My 2021 has it.
