This is lame, your cons are funny, the rear foot brake is easily adjustable, the 12V power outlet is easily in reach from the rider while on the seat. Yamaha is night and day better than any Polaris or canam overall.

Great review! Would you recommend this for a 6'4" tall rider?
@carsonmeier14303 жыл бұрын
I would recommend the 700 it is the same price as this model shown and has more top end power and if you are strong I don’t see why you would need power steering on a big machine
@susdad3 жыл бұрын
@@carsonmeier1430 I would never go back to a machine without power steering again. You get used to the convenience and being able to ride for 10 hours with 0 fatigue.

I'm 6ft. Go grizzly 700se. If your totally a new beginner rider. Go for the kodiak 450se till you get some skills. Big guys do fit the 450 no problem.

@@carsonmeier1430 EPS is also handy if you are parking a trailer or if you are in mud. When standing still it's easier to turn with EPS. Also easier for my GF on the 700 Grizz

Lol cant feel it shift.. its a CVT. There’s no gears
@damon3233 жыл бұрын
Man, I know almost nothing about quads. Haven’t rode one in 20 years. So is this Kodiak 450 fully automatic? Last time I knew anything, it was shifting the gears with my foot and my hand on a clutch. Please go easy on me…lol!!
@ACH913323 жыл бұрын
@@damon323 the transmission is a CVT. It has a belt connected to a primary and secondary sheave that open and close which constantly alter gear ratios. All you do is hit the throttle and the transmission does the rest. Most all the major makes are using a CVT now. The only big difference between some of them is the power engagement.

@@ACH91332 Thanks man, really appreciate it! I’m thinking on getting me and the wife a couple of Kodiak 450’s. That was one of my big questions. I just need to figure out if a 450 is big enough for me. Lol! I’m 6’4 230 lbs.

@@damon323 the 450 Kodiak is perfect for my wife. She is 5’ and it makes her feel really confident while riding. I’m 6’ and I kinda feel odd on her Kodiak. Maybe it’s because I’m used to my Grizzly but if you are 6’4” I’d recommend the Grizzly or Kodiak 700. My Grizzly feels perfect for me.

I just bought one of these. Why is the front brake on the right? Down hill the right hand is doing too much

Legit every machine that has manual front brakes have it on the right hand. Motorcycles, Atv’s, etc etc

Are you serious? Every quality machine is designed this way. Do you know what engine braking is? You don’t need brakes going downhill.

You mentioned a big problem with the Kodiak for some. The handlebar is too short and forward causing the rider to lean too far forward. I wish Yamaha would put the Grizzly bars on the Kodiak. I bought the Grizzly bars but unfortunately the cables are too short and there is a problem with the left brake lever bend interfering with the light pod.
@susdad3 жыл бұрын
How much of a rise difference between the 2 bars?
@qapsukalek3 жыл бұрын
I installed the top clamps that hold handlebars down under my handlebars and loosen all the zip ties around the light pod

@@qapsukalek I used Tusk 30mm riser. I had to move the throttle cable and front brake cable out of the headlight assembly for slack and was it. Now I have a 1.2 inch rise and it’s waay more comfortable.
