i mean yeah he simplified the coolest part of the song and added double bass to it I don't see how one could be anything but a bit disappointed, you can't have it all though and Josh seems like he probably makes sense as a band mate, knew taylor, and is the most proven working drummer in the genre so, can't say he was the wrong choice

Totally agree, in general Josh has simplified everything and upped the tempo in general, sometimes it's ok and sometimes it kinda ruins songs for me.

Yep. He gets a great sound out of the drums and he's quite awesome...but he often sounds like he's rushing/playing on top of the beat. It's ok for some songs maybe but it's not ok here. Sorry. Really makes you appreciate Taylor's steady, consistent pocket and just his truly legendary playing. The Foos lost their Bonham. 😢 At the same time, this is a massive amount of pressure on Freese as well as the whole band. I commend them all for trying. R.I.P. Taylor

That's just Josh, he's a relatively simple drummer. Pretty crazy that he didn't bother to learn all the parts correctly. Dave made a huge mistake hiring him. I don't see it lasting.

It's interesting hearing Josh, he definitely rips, but c'mon, lay it back a hair...please. Im not in charge, im not them, but...i sorta wanna hear Shane Hawkins or Roger Taylor's son -- they seemed to get it more. Freese rips, he's under massive pressure, i still commend him and appreciate what he adds to the band.

​@@crustyskellington4056 one of the reason's taylor has always been one of my favorite drummers has been his clear determination to learn previously written parts lick for lick, you can see that in his earliest shows playing Everlong and my hero he clearly makes a point to learn the parts correctly which is why when Dave Grohl has recognized him as one of the best drummers in the world through the years he's not been exaggerating, and here you can see josh not even bothering to play the signature Neil Peart ride pattern Taylor came up with in the chorus that makes the drum part to this song special, so, I've lost hope on him but, the decision still does make sense professionally, just not quite as him being a good fit for the band, just can't wait for Shane to be old and experienced enough

@@DavidGamero I completely agree with you about Taylor, and about the chorus in Rope too. However, this is Freese’s first tour with the band. To give up hope based on how you’ve heard him play a few songs is madness. Give him time. If he still doesn’t play the way you want in five years, fair enough. The last thing Dave wanted is a Taylor clone, which is why he’s picked a drummer who comes from more of a punk/metal background.

Someone needs to tell Josh to slow down. And I’m not really loving the double kick. Is it really necessary. Overall what I’ve heard so far sounds meh. Dave’s voice doesn’t sound great. And aside from the new songs it’s the same set list since forever. Getting boring now. I think they’re just going through the motions.

Joah is a pubk drummer so he is pushing the beat when he plays. T was a classic rock guy so he sat just behind when playing a beat. Both are technically correct. Just two opposite ends of drumming heu.

Exactly what I think ... His feel on everything ive heard so far hasn't been great. IMO i think he was the wrong choice for this ... Of all the drummers ive heard play with them Rufus Taylor from the Darkness has been the closest so far. Josh while a great studio drummer is just not a great fit, everything just sounds off.
