We caught this swarm about three weeks ago. We've already moved the bees into a 10-frame with the idea we would take it home for two weeks and return it.
Now the bees are a little defensive, and we won't get a new queen for another two weeks. So we are using the "2 feet" method rather than the "2 miles" method of moving a hive.
We've also decided to put our Ross Rounds super on this hive.
We have been keeping bees since 2016. We are hobbyist beekeepers who started out with 2 hives in our backyard. After about a year, we discovered how quickly a colony can become too defensive to be kept in a neighborhood. Now we've got our bees outside of town on 10 acres.
Even after 8 years, we consider ourselves as newbie beeks, and we learn new things every season. The videos are mostly for our own consumption, but if you are watching, you are welcome to watch and we hope you find them informative.
