I got attracted to Michael's teachings on bhagavan for the exact same reason it was the first teaching I heard focused on the ego. It completely got me focused on the straight path of looking within. Thank you bhagavan 🙏🙏🙏

Grateful for Michael's clear teaching, can Michael or ant one answer my query about ego and the body, Micheal explains that ego first grasp the body, does this mean the body exist before the ego, my understanding is that illusory ego and illusory body occurs at the same time ,if the is no ego there is no body as during deep sleep, please anybody comment on this.Thank you

Micheal gives the example of a moving billiard ball hitting a stationary one (in the 3rd paragraph): 'When Bhagavan says here [in the fifth paragraph of Nāṉ Ār?] that the thought called ‘I’ (the ego) is the first thought and that only after it rises do other thoughts arise, this may seem to contradict what he says in verse 7 of Uḷḷadu Nāṟpadu, namely that the world and awareness (which in this context means the ego, the spurious awareness that appears and disappears) arise and subside simultaneously, but there is actually no contradiction here, because when he says that they arise simultaneously he means at the same time, whereas when he says that the ego is the first thought and that only after it rises do other thoughts arise he is not referring to a chronological sequence but to a causal sequence. In terms of chronological sequence, a cause must either precede its effect or be simultaneous with its effect, but even when it is simultaneous with its effect, in terms of causal sequence it precedes it, because a cause is what gives rise to an effect, so logically the cause comes first and its effect comes only after it. Consider the example of a moving billiard ball hitting a stationary one. The hit causes some of the momentum of the moving ball to be transferred to the stationary one, as a result of which it begins to move. The hit is the cause, and the movement of the stationary ball is the effect. Both occur simultaneously in time, but in terms of the causal sequence the cause comes first and the effect follows on from it. That is, the hitting comes first, and only after it occurs does the stationary ball begin to move.' happinessofbeing.blogspot.com/2018/05/the-ego-is-sole-cause-creator-source.html?m=1

@@rblais Thank you very much for this beautiful answer and explanation.I like to clarify further ,that this appears to happen for the point of the ego but this never happen actually, as ego itself is illusory, what really exit is only the real self " I am" which never changes. thank you

@@SinnaThanghamYes, the ego and the world it projects are equally unreal according to Bhagavan. What is real is eternal, unchanging and self-shining. (Michael’s starts his next video discussing this important topic)

There is no ego. Grace is the gift. I am not the one born. The body is born. Who is the body that is born. I am not the person in the body. This body is not mine. This reality is temporary. Many imaginary worlds many gods and jivas. There is no self other than I-I Nothing appears or disappears. Because I think, I am existing, others seem to appear. 14:13 It is easy to know self but I am holds on to the things it like and avoid the thing it dislikes. Only when the i-thought gives up everything is the guru’s grace able to remove the false reality. 17:59 If ego is the first to rise, does anyone know what forms exists prior to the ego rising. If Ego is the first thing to come into existence And only self exists, what names and forms can ego grasp onto? Nothing exists if ego doesn’t come into existence. Nothing exists when ego appears in reality. If I think I am not self I am ego. There is nothing others than self that exists. Ego is the thought I am not self. Only a jiva thinks self is a separate existence. cx

39:11 Ego is the first thought I thinks. Renunciation is giving up the belief that ego exists. Please be aware ego is the belief that I am exists. Give up the belief that ego exists. When ego exists everything appears to exist. Nothing rises from the source. When I think I am alive that is the lie of being delusional imagination of the i thought. The separate thought I am is the false understanding of imaginary nonexistent ego. cx

❤ **WHAT THE EGO REALLY IS** The idea that if we attend to the ego, the ego disappears is false. The ego subsides completely and disappears from our awareness only when our mind is deeply absorbed in inner silence. This happens because all attention has united completely with its source. The idea that we only experience the ego when we experience other things is also false. We can observe and experience the ego itself, that is, the sense of "I" or "I-ness," as we do with any other egoic tendency. Obviously, this requires a mature, pure mind that has developed its sattvic capacities and a great capacity to rest in inner silence. In my case, I developed this capacity after awakening. The ego is made of psychic life energy, causing this sense of identity with the physical body through identification (the ego is the factor that causes all kinds of identifications) and is essentially desire. We can observe the ego like any other egoic tendency, for example, lust or anger. All egoic tendencies such as lust, greed, anger, hatred, jealousy, etc., are nothing but modifications of desire, that is, in fact, expressions of the ego itself.
