Sorry, but I have to disagree. In the Bhagavad Gita Krishna tells Arjuna, that we are all His eternal fragmental parts. Maybe Astakavakra leaned to the unpersonal truth. It is not very encouraging to forget all about yourself, the illusioned part of course, but not the real self, which is only covered by Maya.

Abide in awareness, let go of the veil, That shrouds our true nature, the grand cosmic tale. Embrace the vast consciousness, eternal and free, Beyond the illusion of “you” and “me.” The ego dissolves, as we venture within, Discovering the truth that has always been, A presence unbounded, both endless and still, A unity profound, a deep-rooted thrill. No person or limits shall cage our true light, We are boundless awareness in perpetual flight, The dance of the cosmos, the whispers of stars, The echoes of infinity that bridge near and far. In the stillness of being, we find our true home, A sanctuary within, where illusions dethrone, Abiding in the essence, forever aware, We transcend the mirage of the ego’s despair.

If I am the self, and the self is Brahma, how can I say that I know Brahma, or how can I say I know not the self? If I am the one who is almighty, then how do I offer the one almighty praise? I ask not any attainment for myself, only for manifestation for those who have little, and children who have not food in their bellies. I have the self, that is enough for me.

Very good. I would advise that anyone who wishes to realize this ever-blessed state needs to do more than try to understand this scripture . Only by uniting the consciousness with the primordial Unstruck Sound ,the Anahad Naad , the Sat Shabd the Cosmic Vibration, the audible life stream ,the celestial melody , the voice of the silence .etc.etc can go beyond the mind and senses and realize their true identity as pure Spirit . it doesn't happen automatically without finding a Genuine enlightened Master ,A Sat Guru to impart this timeless method known as Surat Shabd yoga or the Quan yin method which puts emphasis on the contemplating this primordial music which is the Sound of the True Self . Good luck to all seekers
@user-qb4on2qm7z7 ай бұрын
I whole heartedly disagree. The belief you need to do something is bondage. You have always been awareness, you don't have to try to be in the state, it is the original state. The more you seek the farther you drift. End seeking, come to realization.

Great scripture and reading! Thank you, Phil! There's this question: if we are ALREADY awareness as it is our natural condition, why do we need to be aware of it or to realize it? (this is taught by other spiritual teachers as "Being aware of Being aware"). Thank you in advance for your clarification!
@PhilPhilms7 ай бұрын
There’s nothing to be aware of, and there’s nothing to realize. Some teachers may focus more on awareness because many people are unconscious and asleep at the wheel. There is an enhanced sense of aliveness when you are not only aware, but aware of being aware. But again, nothing needs to happen: There’s nowhere to go and nothing to do. Everything is already complete and all the so-called “spiritual work” has already been finished. ⭕️

Proof of Ashtavakra Gita in Bhagavad Gita chapter 8: TEXT 7: Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt.TEXT 8: He who meditates on Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, his mind constantly engaged in remembering Me, undeviated from the path, he, O Pārtha, is sure to reach Me.TEXT 9: One should meditate upon the Supreme Person as the one who knows everything, as He who is the oldest, who is the controller, who is smaller than the smallest, who is the maintainer of everything, who is beyond all material conception, who is inconceivable, and who is always a person. He is luminous like the sun, and He is transcendental, beyond this material nature.
