John Levy gave me this book in London 1972. In PURE AWARENESS there is no diversity whatsoever... Your every thought is trance...a spell...brought upon Awareness...which is Peace Itself... Identify That as the only unmoving Reality...Changeless and beyond life and death.

Ashtavakra Gita is full of knowledge. Through this you understand what life is. How to get rid of this fleeting life? How to know your soul Ashtavakra Gita tells us that we are souls and not bodies. Blessed is the land of Bharat, who gave a great sage and philosopher like Ashtavakra to India and the whole world. People should remain indebted to India for this great personality.

🙏🕉🙏 Beautifully said. The Astavakra Gita is probably the most humbling answer to the most important and pivotal query asked in the whole of the Great Bhagavad Gita; Oh my Dear Lord, how am I to understand who I am? Please be merciful and tell me for my existence rests only on this knowledge and surrendered devotional practice. Bhagavad Gita Chapter 8.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. In the Bhagavad Gita Krishna tells Arjuna, that we are all His eternal fragmental parts. Maybe Astakavakra leaned to the unpersonal truth. It is not very encouraging to forget all about yourself, the illusioned part of course, but not the real self, which is only covered by Maya.

There is nothing to implement. No matter where you are, who you think you are, whether you believe or not. You don't have a choice. You are Parabramhan, the one beyond consciousness. We are 4 layers deep. Body/mind/consciousness/Awareness or Parabramhan. Observe your thoughts. Then observe the one observing the thoughts and you realize you can't and that is you.

It's a slippery path because one can end up actually bettering one's life without switching to Bhakti- Love and prayer for the Personal form of this Ultimate of truths of which does not end when this scripture ends. For such truth was there no beginning, even Astavakra Git's consclusion can begin to define this truths end. 🙏🙏🙏

Abide in awareness, let go of the veil, That shrouds our true nature, the grand cosmic tale. Embrace the vast consciousness, eternal and free, Beyond the illusion of “you” and “me.” The ego dissolves, as we venture within, Discovering the truth that has always been, A presence unbounded, both endless and still, A unity profound, a deep-rooted thrill. No person or limits shall cage our true light, We are boundless awareness in perpetual flight, The dance of the cosmos, the whispers of stars, The echoes of infinity that bridge near and far. In the stillness of being, we find our true home, A sanctuary within, where illusions dethrone, Abiding in the essence, forever aware, We transcend the mirage of the ego’s despair.

Just as mesmerizing and magical as I am sure it was intended to be when recited from memory throughout the ages in intimate gatherings around the sacred fire under a billion stars -- or whistling through the empty heads of wise men perched in solitude on the tops of wind-swept mountain peaks.. If I am the self, and the self is Brahma, how can I say that I know Brahma, or how can I say I know not the self? If I am the one who is almighty, then how do I offer the one almighty praise? I ask not any attainment for myself, only for manifestation for those who have little, and children who have not food in their bellies. I have the self, that is enough for me.

Very good. I would advise that anyone who wishes to realize this ever-blessed state needs to do more than try to understand this scripture . Only by uniting the consciousness with the primordial Unstruck Sound ,the Anahad Naad , the Sat Shabd the Cosmic Vibration, the audible life stream ,the celestial melody , the voice of the silence .etc.etc can go beyond the mind and senses and realize their true identity as pure Spirit . it doesn't happen automatically without finding a Genuine enlightened Master ,A Sat Guru to impart this timeless method known as Surat Shabd yoga or the Quan yin method which puts emphasis on the contemplating this primordial music which is the Sound of the True Self . Good luck to all seekers

I whole heartedly disagree. The belief you need to do something is bondage. You have always been awareness, you don't have to try to be in the state, it is the original state. The more you seek the farther you drift. End seeking, come to realization.

Great scripture and reading! Thank you, Phil! There's this question: if we are ALREADY awareness as it is our natural condition, why do we need to be aware of it or to realize it? (this is taught by other spiritual teachers as "Being aware of Being aware"). Thank you in advance for your clarification!
@PhilPhilms
@PhilPhilms 7 ай бұрын
There’s nothing to be aware of, and there’s nothing to realize. Some teachers may focus more on awareness because many people are unconscious and asleep at the wheel. There is an enhanced sense of aliveness when you are not only aware, but aware of being aware. But again, nothing needs to happen: There’s nowhere to go and nothing to do. Everything is already complete and all the so-called “spiritual work” has already been finished. ⭕️

Proof of Ashtavakra Gita in Bhagavad Gita chapter 8: TEXT 7: Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me in the form of Kṛṣṇa and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt.TEXT 8: He who meditates on Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, his mind constantly engaged in remembering Me, undeviated from the path, he, O Pārtha, is sure to reach Me.TEXT 9: One should meditate upon the Supreme Person as the one who knows everything, as He who is the oldest, who is the controller, who is smaller than the smallest, who is the maintainer of everything, who is beyond all material conception, who is inconceivable, and who is always a person. He is luminous like the sun, and He is transcendental, beyond this material nature.

The truth is on my path I discovered the truth that I am awareness, I know it a level beyond belief. But my conclusion is different to that of Astavakra. I believe that as unlimited awareness we through the usage of our own minds have come to enjoy the world as kings. The man that recognized he is not a man but awareness is crowned king and is free to pursue any experience. We are God.

This is getting better and better every time i listen to it. I feel like I absorb it more listening than actually reading the book. Would you be open to doing the Avadhuta Gita as well?

The next step of this advaitic dhyanayog would be bhaktiyog on the path towards karmayog therefore bhaktiyog is to be deliberated on and practiced through the Bhagavad Gita 🙏🙏

@@jshdhdyjfjdjfhfyyene731not necessarily, that’s the belief of nearly every school that believes Bhakti is the final step but in Advaita the last step is jnana, intuitive self knowledge which is the realization of one being identical to Brahman

@@shattered_lightsb8381 this is the path of Sankhya, yes it is possible and with Bhakti it is easiest to get there. This is also mentioned in many great scriptures of which Astavakra has also echoed. After all this body and mind is human or of material nature and that is inescapable that is aside of (and coincides with) Brahman being our true change-less nature :-) Object is something which objects (and yet cannot object) to consciousness. Jai 🙏 May Peace dawn on everything you do and bliss be it's fragrance. Jai 🙏🙏🙏

It seemed a risky idea to hear this in American English. It turns out it was fine. Thanks 💕

14:14 Great to meditate on these 4-5 sentences to quell the ignorant thoughts arising.
