The great unknown. Welcome back listeners, today we are featuring a new drum kit for an overall different drum sound. Singer Songwriter offers added controls for reverb and ambience mix levels as well as distortion in the Mixer tab. Tweaked to taste. Song was arranged with the MIDI instruments from start to finish and the drums arranged to match that. Guitars were added lastly so they could come and go naturally overflowing bars and beats. Thanks for your time readers, please comment and let me know what you think. :) Rock on!! -Jim

This is when I'm glad I have 8" studio monitors! They sound so good listening to music this well made and played. Nice Cool video too. Made me think of Bigfoot. My friend owns a Bigfoot Museum.

You’re absolutely correct. This one sounds best with a reasonable playback system, it has some heavy bottom end. Bigfoot on the kick drum! 😜 We need him on bass guitar! LOL.

Good morning Chad, happy holiday weekend to ya! Some of the guitars in the rooms were put away in their cases and I brought out the single coil guitars. Their lower output has a noticeable different tone. The Suhr Pete Thorn guitar has some exceptional sounds in it, which compare closely to the single coils. Used as a low output guitar along side them. I fretted a wrong chord with the symphony synths, and was amazed how grossly dissonant chords sound movie quality good. I’m doing the cooking this weekend 😜. Good eats forthcoming! Happy Memorial Day good sir! 🇺🇸💪Thanks for listening! ❤️❤️❤️

@@jimshomestudio That's what Bob Ross would call a happy accident! Like they say, there's no wrong notes in music, it's how you structure them. I think it turned out beautifully. I actually just met a keyboardist through a Discord group I'm in and might have a project in the works. I hope you have a good holiday as well!

This sounded great Jim! You are definitely getting great results lately. Love the finish on that LP BTW

💪 Kickin ass and taking names! 😜 (wink) It was a very modular approach to writing this one, with each part done specifically to help enhance that section, surprised at the result because it didn’t take shape until the very end. But I like the results. Thanks for checking it out!! 🔥

@@jimshomestudio I've found that too Jim. Quite often I have no idea what something will turn out like as I am making it. In fact, often the way I expect it to turn out when I start, is nothing like the end result.

@@ccjmusic I’ve always enjoyed the ‘sleep on it’ method of verification. If you still enjoy it with fresh ears, it might be OK! 😜 Have fun Colin, see you soon.

@@jimshomestudio I'm mostly the opposite Jim. I like to try and do everything in as short a time as possible as that captures the spontaneity. If I ever stop and think about things I end up second guessing myself and messing things up. I often make multiple versions of the same basic thing and again just change what is in my mind at that moment. If I were to stop and think I would realize I lack the talent to do it properly.

@@ccjmusic I would’ve thought you are one of the few tasteful music producers who constantly pleases the listener. Good decisions, a good ear, or a commitment to quality. Wish more people were like you.

Sometimes I find a music theory tutorial that’s useful, in this case I used a non diatonic note called the flat 5. Which provides a lot of dissonance. The orchestrated instruments can get away with this easy. But a guitar and it’s blatant, to my ears. Those non diatonic notes jump right out.

@@jimshomestudio A lot of metall shredders use dissonance a lot. If not too extreme, it brings a lot of spice to the sound. This was a lot a lots :D

@@Michael_Moon4242 Thank you for listening Michael. The harmonic minor, Phrygian mode and diminished chord progressions I’m familiar with sometimes become usable progressions, but I think this is the first time I heard or understood the flat 5 and used it. Always happy to learn. Always a pleasure to discover someone talking theory and demonstrating something I can grasp. And then use! 🙏
