George Yeo shows that religion is just a means for one to reach moments of enlightenment and not an end in itself. He is a Teochew and Catholic from Houguang/Punggol, the area in Singapore where I lived my childhood days. I fully understand his philosophy and outlook in life. Thank you George for sharing.

But he was wrong by saying Chinese kingdom since ancient time was always homogenous races. Didn't he know that Qin Shihuang was a Turkic? Didn't he know in Tang dynasty there were lot of the Ancient Uyghurs, Tanguts and Khitans people live side by side with the Chinese and proclaim themselves as Chinese. Didn't he know An Lushan former Tang general was a Indo-european? So conclusion is China since the ancient time never been homogenous but always multiracial.

@@AbHarians Although you are right to say China is not always racially homogenous in ancient times but homogeneity is not limited to race, it can also be cultural. The word Chinese can also mean race, culture, nationality and language. China is undoubtedly homogenous in many metrics, especially after Qin Shi Huang unified China.

One thing he is wrong is saying China was always homogenous since ancient time which by many fact it is false. China since ancient time was always multiracial, in the Tang dynasty there were lot of Ancient Uyghurs, Tanguts, Khitans, Sogdians (indo-european) live in China and proclaim themselves as Chinese. Read the history of Liao Kingdom, Western Xia, Qara-khitai, Qara-khanid, Song empire, Tang Empire even in the Han empire.

The underlying issue is Singapore providing US military bases to block the Mala Straits at USA pleases. It is not war or conflict, but trade. What was once held by the Philippines and Singapore, now is held by Thai, Indo, Malay trade Merchant contract w/Chinese

India and China border dispute is idiotic. 2 countries with ancient history. 2 nations with huge territories disputing over minuscule land areas in the high altitudes, barely inhabitable. It seems to me that the solution is to split the areas in halves and call it the day. Both sides should refrain from ridiculing and blaming the other side. Both sides should sell the resolution to the people as win-win without declaring victory unilaterally. That’s the only way for both nations to become free and move forward to develop friendly and beneficial relationship.
