This video explains the high school basketball rules change regarding faking being fouled. Confused about how the rule will work? You won't be after you watch this.

Outstanding presentation. This will be very helpful for all officials.

Seems like a good rule change to address an issue that is on the increase. Better than back in the day, if you flopped, the chances of you getting an offensive foul or benefit the doubt from me were gone. And I would let the coach and players know. If you were steam rolled later in the game after flopping, no call. Worked pretty well, but this rule change is better and empowers corrective officiating, while still allowing a penalty for additional fake fouls. I particularly like the delayed whistle to let a play to conclude so an offensive advantage is not taken away. Nice job!!

All coaches at every level need to see this, because they’re not gonna understand no matter how many times it’s called

I'm glad they're putting more focus on this -- it's ridiculous, dishonest, and disruptive to the game. The pros should crack down on it as well.

what if there is a flopping call on a team B player (on defense and delayed call) and a team A player fouls a team B player on a subsequent rebound opportunity? How would this be administered? Thank you.

SEASONED referees should be able to recognize when it is actually a contact that creates flopping.
