Pie looked good. I have seen Jay struggle with that creek as well, looks like a real bugger when it’s low. Still working my way back through your old videos. Cheers from 🇦🇺😃

The pie was AMAZING. Not to toot my own horn or anything 🤣😂. The creek is definitely a bugger, but honestly, it adds to the great adventures and stories to tell. I’ll always remember this creek for life now! Thanks so much for the support, my friend! So t forget to share the videos with all of your friends and neighbours! 😅😅. //derek

Thanks Shane! I try to make note of the bloopers for sure. I’m thinking a blooper compilation video would be fun to do some time 😎

Nice tent, where I am, just south of you, the bears will wreck your tent if you leave it up. Thanks for the video!

😬. Yes, they sure will attack it here too! There were so many cabin and tent attacks near me this year. One tent really close by was completely wrecked! We were VERY lucky! The luck will run out one of these years for sure! Where abouts are you at? //derek

Hi Derek! Just noticing that you’ve gone over 700 subs! That’s great! Won’t be long and you’ll be back on the sled enjoying the winter at the tent. Looking forward to those videos! As always, have a good week and see you on the next one!

Ice fishing soon cant wait. Few of you with cabins out there should pitch in for a Gas Powered Which and store it on the portage in a crate. Hook some guide lines on a few trees along the creek. They use gas power which's on the 2nd and 3rd portages going up Stagg river into the lake.
@SubArcticAdventures2 ай бұрын
@@JScott155 That’s not a bad idea Jimmy! Going up the Stagg River is where you’re taking us moose hunting, eh? 🫣
@JScott1552 ай бұрын
@@SubArcticAdventures haha stagg is all burnt now, good Walleye fishing in there tho. Will def be good moose country in a year or two again with the fresh growth.

This is probably one of my favourite videos So far. Really enjoyed it. What was the pie recipe you used? Mind sharing it? How long did it take in the oven? Looked DELICIOUS!
@SubArcticAdventures2 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s a slight variation from a beef pie recipe out of a 1796 cookbook titled “American Cookery” by Amelia Simmon.

Good Job Brother! Are there large enough trees there to use rope and a couple snatch blocks to pull your boat in that shallow part? would be a lot less work i would think.
@SubArcticAdventures2 ай бұрын
@@gmcanadian3467 Thanks brother! It would be way less work for sure! I’ve heard of an ancient story of a man lifting a warship under his own strength with the aid of pulleys. I’m hoping there’s just going to be more water in the creek next year though! 😅

When your rubber water boots for wading through that water stuff get age cracks in them and leak, is there a way to repair them? In the video you guys have a lot of water and boats, so you have to use these.... so I thought I'd ask.
@SubArcticAdventures2 ай бұрын
There will be a time when the age cracks get to be too much for the material and a total replacement will be needed, but for rips and holes, there are repair kits you can get. If you search “wet suit repair kit”, you should get some good hits on the big box store in the sky! 😎

How was it when you left? Was it more frozen and jagged ?

Surprisingly no. It was frozen flat again. It just would’ve been repetitive content so I didn’t record getting through it on the way home.

Curious how deep the snow gets up there? You are... so far north of us that its like look at videos of how (Ice) Martians live or something. :)
@SubArcticAdventures2 ай бұрын
Truth be told, it’s so dry and cold where we are that it really doesn’t snow a lot. Nothing compared to the snow I grew up getting on the east coast of Canada. I really really really enjoy the winter here! I’ll take a -40 here any day! 😎
