Tundra is not meant to live for humans. There is a reason no one lived there until 500 years back in last 2 million year history. It s kept alive at cost of cheap labour and burning excess fuel to keep building heated up. In hundreds of year when world is better than today, that place will not have migrants to keep it warm and work in atrocious weather at cost of taking toll on social and mental health. For now the show goes on.

@@sashadoji1795 Frost bite can happen at any temperature below zero, its based off time exposed, and is also affected by wind speed and wetness. Alberta is extremely windy, with bad storms the wind can easily reach 100+ km/h, even on a normal day gusts overs 50km/h all night are very common. Also most cases of frostbite are for outdoorsman or homeless people. Russia also has cases of frostbite at -15, its just a matter of time, not toughness.

I dress in shorts and t-shirt in the heat and it feels like I am boiling alive at 25 Celsius. You can dress for extreme cold. Extreme heat not so much. And I don't mean to say above 25 Celsius is extreme heat, but I still can't stand it. +50? No thanks. I will take -50 any-day.

It took two consecutive winters where the temperatures dropped to negative forty-two to make me pack my stuff and go back to Europe . The cold is not as big of a problem as the dramatic seasonal fluctuations the province is going through from winter to summer. When you have temperatures ranging from -30 to -45 in winter and during summer it can get as high as 39 degrees, it begs so many questions. I firmly believe that that is detrimental to your body, plus it's not a good quality of life.
