😎Here's how it sounds in Sport+ mode: kzbin.infotKbkBUHamz4

Why didn’t you use Sport+? The pops and bangs are what sets the DE5 apart from the FL5 and I’m sure what most owners want to hear.

Thanks for askin'. We attempted to do just that. . . unfortunately the burbles were not consistent on each rev, and after a quick bit of research on the topic of the ITS's fuel mapping/trims and the gremlin CELs/stealth codes that drivers were experiencing with Sport+ and their burbles going away. . .we decided not to irritate the car in the name of a clean sound demo vs forcing it to go into limp mode while out in the field. This ensured a clean comparison between the two exhausts -- Touring & Track -- in the same setting. Since this footage was filmed (early this year) we have had this vehicle back at HQ for intake development. Unsure if the owner took it for a software update of some sort, but it seems to burble consistently (when it's not throwing a fit in sport+ mode while on the dyno). We'll capture the burbles on film for everyone and post a follow up link here as well as our site 👍

@@awetuningDoes the car still go in limp mode and lose the burble tune in sport + while off the Dino? I drive in individual with comfort suspension and everything else sport + so if I were to buy this I wouldn’t want to lose the burble tune in the process. Thanks
@awetuning4 ай бұрын
@@MTater_ the exhaust has nothing to do with the vehicle’s factory-applied software/programming nor does it influence said programming - you can proceed with confidence.

@@awetuning I know it won’t remove the burble tube but I was more replying to your comment where drivers were experiencing CEL codes and loss of the burble tune sometimes while in sport +.

@@MTater_ can't comment on whether it's a guaranteed phenomenon with every vehicle, it seemed to be here and there. If it were me, I'd chat with my dealer to see if there's been any software updates/ TSBs.

What is the weight saving from Track versus the Touring?

yeah Defiantly needed a Sports+ mode... its all we drive in...Sounds good but would be perfect if it was valved

See response to other comment re: the Sport+ debacle, and a valve isn't needed with proper engineering. The Touring Edition renders all of the same effects with driving modes, and it's neighborhood friendly. Your valve still opens in comfort mode upon throttle threshold, and our 180 Tech kills drone on the highway (where a valve would be used most) regardless of throttle input. The Touring Edition is all business with no gimmicks.

these are my favorite tips, wish it was valved!

A valve rendered to be pointless in the grand scheme of things. Our Touring Edition essentially achieves the same thing, at a higher frequency than a valved system does (because as you likely know it still opens upon throttle threshold in comfort mode). Drone it killed at highway speed and tone is civil at low throttle when leaving your neighborhood -- i.e. achieving what a valve would do while accommodating a fantastic price point for a full, front-to-back 3" exhaust with included front pipe.

We do. ECU and fuel trim temperament had other plans this day. See response to other comment. We'll get more footage for y'all.

It's not valved
@awetuning4 ай бұрын
Nope, they’re not valved: During R&D, AWE conducted a (quite painstaking) full evaluation of the factory valve and its behavior under various driving conditions to determine its reason for existing. We didn't find any noticeable change in volume between modes during R&D that demanded a valve to be included. It's only closed when in comfort mode, of which still opens upon a throttle threshold. Sport and Sport+ mode renders the valve in the open positions, and Sport+ introduces burbles from the ECU. On the stock configuration, the exhaust is routed through the side mufflers when the valve is closed to mitigate interior volume (i.e. any drone-prone frequencies), and then when it’s open, it’s sent through the center. The benefit of our configurations-the Touring Edition in particular-renders a full, straight-through exhaust path that is sent through our 180 Tech resonator, killing drone while providing max output, regardless of the driving mode, at all times, without sounding like a vacuum. It’s the best of both worlds. Thanks to the design of our 180 Tech resonators, it’s not difficult to creep through a neighborhood without causing a ruckus. Low throttle with our Touring Edition is very civil, minus any gimmicks, just with a deeper note.

The touring sounds better, not sure how thats even possible
@awetuning3 ай бұрын
It's due to the magic in our Touring Editions and the fact they feature our patented drone-canceling 180 Technology®. Straight pipe performance and tone without the drone-prone frequencies. It's our signature, and how we're able to provide max performing 3-inch catbacks without discomfort in the cabin at cruising speeds. 😎
