This is a beautiful car. The ultimate I would want being older, if I was still a diehard enthusiast, that the time, money, energy, and good place to keep it. I would spend $60K if I had no complaints if I had the money to buy this with all the factory accessories I wanted, plus tint the windows and add a front strut tower brace. I don't think there would be very much else I would do other than keep it properly maintained, care for the exterior and interior and enjoy it. But in all practical purposes, I don't have time for that, or a good place to keep it. An A-Spec Technology Package, same color and interior would be more practical for me, still have the EKS stereo I would want and be almost as good for what I need at $40K with all the OEM accessories I would want. Or even a Boost Blue Pearl or Sonic Grey Pearl Civic Sport Touring Hatchback which is almost as nice as the A Spec Technology Package. Great technical review that like the others that give insight whether the vehicle in question is worth buying, or not.

If you are not driving spiritedly you will be lucky to get 250 miles on a full tank. 5) apple car play is laggy. But what makes all of the above comprisable are 1) the engine and transmission are just a blast. You just want to keep driving. This is my daily driver. 2) the car is really good looking and reasonably comfortable in comfort mode 3) the sound system is pretty good 4) it’s a Honda, so will be reliable and retain value better than the Germans. 5) pretty much shares all components with CTR, easy to get mods, if you want.

@kvpillai4 ай бұрын
@@TheKPABA the suspension is quite comfortable in comfort mode, plus it comes standard with lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and collision warning. In sixth gear the RPM is 3000 at 80MPH, so you will hear the engine a bit, but it’s a good sound if you ask me. The stock 265 Michelins are definitely noisier than my all season 245 Continentals. The ELS sound system will easily drown any residual road noise. Having said all of that I would absolutely take it on a road trip of any length. I had a new black 88 Integra LS to drive when I was 16 in high school. I was the only kid with an Acura at that time. The pop up headlights. The4 valve per cylinder engines were the latest thing for power. GM had their quad 4 engines at the time. It had 118 HP from a 1.6 liter. Remember at that time a 5.0 V8 Mustang GT had 225 HP. Now, my Kia Optima SX with 2.0 Turbo 4 cylinder puts out 245 HP and 265 torque. Getting 100 HP per liter back then was considered a huge accomplishment. I like this Integra but I would only buy it if it had a nicely tuned 6 or 7 auto or DCT with paddle shifters. imo, 10 speed transmissions are really dumb. You are only traveling from 0 to 80 mph. Having 10 gears is unnecessary, and to paddle shift that many gears is ridiculous.

@BigBear-- Жыл бұрын
If you care about a softer ride, you can just throw the suspension module from the Type-S on the Type-R. Same thing with the exhaust, you can delete one resonator, and it's basically the same exhaust. Same thing for tune, you can retune the Type-R with the Type-S tune (or better). Even if they were the same price I'd still take the FL5 Type-R...cause it's much easier to turn aspects of the Type-R into a Type-S, but with the added benefits of it still being a Type-R (made in Japan, better seats, more exclusive, more special, Log-R software, better adjustability, shift lights, etc.).

The fact that the dual axis front suspension has bolted ball joints is especially important from a future maintenance perspective. Fun fact: the engine is the K20C8 in the ITS purely to distinguish it from the K20C1 in the CTR. 1) What winter tyres can one fit on this car? On the same wheels or are there steel wheels available? 2) Can a space saver spare tire be carried in the wheel well? 3) The placement of the turbo and exhaust waste gate look very serviceable which is important to me 4) Has the K20C1/8 had any significant reliability issues? I’ve seen a lot of discussion (read complaining) over the price of the Type S. I think whether it’s a good value or not is debatable and depends on what you value. But…when I see comparisons to what you could get for the money back in the day, I have to call BS. In all these comparisons, people seem to be directly comparing “Back-In-The-Day” dollars with Now-Year-Dollars, neglecting the role of CPI. For instance: a 1997 Integra Type R had a starting list price of 23,100. According to the BLS CPI calculator, $23,100 in 1997 dollars is now equivalent to approximately $45,000. That’s not less than half the price of the Integra Tye S - not even remotely close. And, that doesn’t include the fact that the Type S benefits from 25+ years of engineering advancements over the original Type R, to include things like adaptive damping, safety features, tech integration (you might have gotten a CD player?), 123 additional HP. Oh, and to even get A/C in the 1997 Type R, you had to fork over an additional $800 (in 1997 $) for a dealer installed option! So, to claim that cars like this were cheap back then is not understanding how the value of money changes over time, and is not productive in thinking about what we’re actually getting for the money now.

The thing about the rev matching is the owner will usually either have it on or off , so once you set it that's it. In my opinion... great video as always...

@@iJava91good all season snow rated tires won't do it for you in fwd? I get it, if it's 6in plus often it probably won't, if it's 2-3in often it might but I'd rather have awd in that situation too if I knew that's how it was.

I wonder if you could comment on the Type S turbo 6 cyl. I’m switching from German cars to Japanese … for reliability and headache less life. My first experience with Honda was back in the 1980s when my VW Scirocco was in the shop and a relative le t me his manual 1983 Honda accord … I was so shocked how smooth the gearshift was and how peeps that car was ..and it was already 6-8 yrs old .. since then Honda has had a special place in my heart .. i was also lent a Honda CRX 2 seater. my next experience that opened my eyes was how reliable my mothers Toyota 4Runner has been and its 2001 model with 90000 miles..

Hey AMD! Do you plan on making a video about the new Lexus TX any time soon (possibly even the 500h F Sport)? Really wanted to know what you think about the engineering choices of it as it’s an SUV that I really like at the moment. Just wanted to hear your opinion as I trust what you say about the quality and overall design choices under the hood and car and wanted to see how much it differs from its sister, the Grand Highlander (great video btw!) I love your videos, keep up the great work my friend! ❤

I’m noticing a bunch of praise for FWD sports sedans/coupes lately from the integra, civic SI, civic type R, and Elantra N. I’ve driven several FWD (Toyota Celica-GT, Golf GTI Mk V Mk6). When I switched to BRZ my first RWD I loved it more it taught me limits and gave more input feel. Then I jumped to AWD and I don’t think I will go back. I’m just trying to understand if FWD suddenly got better or has changed?
@RobertoMezquiaJr Жыл бұрын
@@AceDriver2012it didn't suddenly get better. Honda does some magical work with fwd handling that I haven't seen other brands do as well. You should definitely give one of the newer FWD Hondas/Acuras a try. Specifically the 2017+ Type R or the 2024 Type S. The Si is decent but nothing like the Type R with handling.

Glad to see Honda still making good cars. Unfortunately they lose to manufacturers that are nowhere near their level of quality because they lack the matketing. I don't know how it is in the US, but in Europe it's super uncommon to see new Hondas around ☹️

@AndreiGrozea Жыл бұрын
@@jgreen6139 they only sell some models of the Civic and Jazz/Fit here in EU. I live in Denmark and the newest Accord I can find is the 2010. The good part is that they hold value very well but they may have corossion issues sometimes.

@@AndreiGrozea interesting, Hondas do last a long time. I have a Toyota 4Runner but can appreciate any car built well. What are the major brands where you are, German?
@AndreiGrozea Жыл бұрын
@@jgreen6139 yes, you see a lot of newer (max 5-10 years old) VW/Audi/Mercedes/BMW here. Toyotas and Suzuki are popular out of the Japanese ones, (sidenote to that, I think I saw a total of 3 Lexus models on the road this whole year) but after the Germans I'd say Kia / Hyundai are the most popular. There used to be an abundance of Peugeots and Renaults but not so much anymore, I literally see more Teslas than the French brands these days. It's kinda the same in Romania, my home country, which is way lower income than Denmark, but during my holidays there I did see a lot of Hondas and Toyotas, which was quite the change, because the VW Golf/Passat and a Romanian Renault subsidiary, Dacia was pretty much the only thing you'd see on the road, along with old decrepid BMW and Opels. The main difference is Western EU countries usually hold on to a car as long as the warranty last, and then they get rid of it, no matter how good that car may be. In Eastern Europe and the Balkans you still have a lot of old cars running around just fine because people actually fix them, but skilled mechanics are starting to be hard to come by unfortunately. My income in Denmark is average, and I had Danish coworkers ask me why do I hold on to a 86k miles 2012 Civic, with "that income". It's pretty odd.

After watching a bunch of these I have a whole new appreciation for Honda/Acura. Everything is clean, organized and well built. Far cry from many of the other manufacturers which look great on the interior but in the engine bay and under the car the lack of attention to detail and build quality is very poor comparatively.
